Chapter 3 - Confusion?

It was quite late by the time Clara finished her work.
'Argh, what was a tiring day!' Clara thought while stretching her arms out and enters the lift but didn't notice that Dan has been absorbing all her actions as well as followed her in.
"Sheesh! You still act like a cat!" Dan said while trying hard not to laugh but still the corner of his mouth twitched a little
Clara notices the corner of his mouth twitch and glares at him "Shut up! And stop laughing!"
The look on her face is the same as an angry kitten and this made Dan lose his control and chuckles "Even your face looks like one too!"
Clara just glares at him "Shut up and get lost!" Clara shouts and pushes the button to the ground floor angrily
It's a good thing that no other employees are at the office currently or else they would be in shock to see their cold and aloof boss would act this way. Well it is not a surprise, since they have known each other since middle school and have been best friends since then. So, when Clara told to him that she wants to work and not to depend on Miller family, Dan suggested her to work under him since it'll be easier and her identity will not be easily exposed; first Clara declined his offer but later she has to accept it since her father agreed for it only if she works under Dan and they also promised that they'll keep their private life and office life separate. So, Dan would act like a totally different person after their work hours in-front of her and she's totally used to it.

'Ding!' lift reaches the ground floor and Clara exists followed by Dan
"Are you hungry? Do you want to grab something to eat?" Dan asks while following her
Clara pretends she didn't hear anything and continues to walk 'This guy, does he think he can buy me with food. I'm still angry at him for what happened earlier'
Dan sighs "Are you still angry at me for what happened earlier?"
Clara still remains silent and continues to walk 'This guy sure knows what's going on in my mind'
"I know it's not your fault but clearly hers but can't you see I have tried to surpass the situation as quietly as possible, since it'll be a big occasion for us next week and I don't want other people to get entangled in this" Dan said honestly
Earlier that day some of the Clara designs which has been already approved by Dan has been stolen by her co-worker and she presented the same designs to Dan claiming them to be hers. This made Clara frustrated since she has worked hard to create those designs and here comes someone who is trying to use someone's hardship to get credit. Dan instantly understand whose designs those where since he has already seen Clara's designs and called Clara in; after comforting each other he directly fired the other person and made sure she'll not step in fashion industry again in the future.
Clara still remained quite and enters her car. Dan follows her in without asking for her permission and gets himself seated in front seat
"....Dan, what do you want now?" Clara questions
"Go to the usual place, I'm hungry let's eat and it's my treat!" Dan replies while putting the seat belt
Clara sighs while wearing her seat belt and shook her head 'this guy is hard to handle' and droves off

Mark couldn't able to decide whether to accept Mr. Miller's offer or to decline it. He has so many questions running through his head like 'Why did he choose me? What is his hidden motive behind this?'
He couldn't able to get a good night sleep due to these thoughts in mind, of course he has to give his answer by tomorrow or else the company which his grandpa worked hard to build and the employees who are currently working under will be...
