I am already in the hospital with Melvin by my side,
“Is the baby okay?” I asked, that was the first thing on my mind.
It was also a sign to Melvin who was resting by my bed that I was up, he rose from his chair.
“Hey,” he held my cheeks, “You are awake” he said and I smiled.
“Is the baby okay?” I asked again.
“Yes, the baby is fine”
He responds.
“Let me notify the doctor that you are awake” he turned to leave, he was so close to the door when I spoke.
“You called me Lily” I said softly, and he passed in his tracks, just before he could reach the door.
As I woke up, the memory flashed in my head, that was the first thing I remember.
I could remember my name being the last thing he called before I passed out.
“Please stay with me Lily, that’s what you said” I reminded him
