“This is all my fault sir, I should have been more careful” I reacted before he even got me.
He paused in front of me, his right hand closing the door, leaving us all alone in the room.
“No, it’s not your fault” he changed his words.
His hands reached for my face and he cupped it in his hand, it almost made me puke but I held myself.
“But you were about to lash out on me, you pointed at me” I played my act perfectly, I could see how smitten his eyes were.
Does he have any dignity left in him.
“No, I was about to ask you to get on the phone and find out what happened.
This is not your fault.
If it’s anybody’s fault, it’s mine.” He pulled away and stared at the files on the desk.
“Maybe my presentation just wasn’t good enough. I hate to see all my hard work go to waste”
Hard work!
This man has not worked a day in his life, if he did, he would have notice the flaws in the presentation but he didn’t, that just shows how gullible he was
“Are you sure?” I asked calmly.
“Yes dear”
The only thing he ever put effort in is having women in his bed.
“Cancel all my meetings for today, reschedule them for tomorrow. Alright,” he ordered.
“Yes Sir” I nodded and watched him leave.
In a flash, the pitiful look on my face was gone.
I made a note in my head to have a long bath once I get home, to get the stench of his touch off my body.
I grabbed the stack of files on the desk then sent them to management.
Once I was done with work for the day, I grabbed my bag to leave.
All I thought about was water on my body to wash the stink of his hands from when he touched me.
The wipes I used on my face just didn’t seem enough.
I stood in front of the building waiting for a taxi when a familiar car parked in front of me, the glass windows pulled down.
It was Melvin.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, “I told you to stop coming to my work. What is wrong with you?” I lashed out.
He was another issue I wasn’t ready to deal with at the moment.
The kind I couldn’t keep away with how many times he had come back here.
“Let me drop you off” he suggested.
“No” I shook my head and began moving hoping he wouldn’t bother me.
“I’m not going to leave until you get in” he pestered me.
I took a glance at my watch, it's already been five minutes and there was not a trace of taxis around, it made me feel like he had a hand in it.
The smile on his face felt like a dead giveaway.
I reluctantly got into his car, it was the only choice I had.
“Its a lovely evening” he whispered.
I sighed,
“I told you to not come to my workplace, what part of that do you not understand?” I raised my voice.
“I understood but i just didn’t listen”
I was beyond words as I just stared at him.
Was he always this brazen, I had always thought of him to be quiet and humble, nothing like the arrogant airhead beside me.
“Well, this should be the last time” I informed him.
“I’m not going to stop” he cuts me off.
I might as well appreciate the honesty but I wouldn’t want him to ruin things for me.
I worked too well on my plans to have someone ruin them before it even began.
The best I could do was make a stance that would work for both of us.
“Fine,” I breathed out, “you can park by the restaurant ahead and I would come to you” I proposed.
“How do I know you are not messing with me” he contorted.
I pulled out my phone and asked for his number, he looked a bit shocked that I did, but gave it to me nonetheless, I dialed the number and waited until it rang in his phone.
“That’s my number, you can call me when you are around”
If I can’t get rid of him then I could keep a little distance.
“Okay, I can work with that” he nodded his head while he stayed focused on the road ahead of him.
“I also came for something else” he added.
“What’s that?” I asked.
His tone was soft as he spoke, “I don’t like you working there. I have an offer for you.
You can work with me in my bank, I will pay you three times what you are earning now” he bargained, it was a good offer that anyone would jump on.
Yet I couldn't wrap my head around why he was being nice to me, why would he want me near him.
“Why?”
“I just don’t like this place” he answered, it wasn’t a definitive answer which meant there was a motive behind it, especially since he knew Gaston.
“I can’t” I responded, “I like where I am working” I added.
“Are you sure?” He asked, giving me a little glance, enough to look subtle about it but long enough to make me realize the way his eyes scanned through my body.
I wasn’t going to bore him with my life story and how I am plotting revenge on my ex-fiance. It was none of his business.
He might even call me crazy if he found out the truth or worse, he might stay away from me.
I could work with both scenarios because it would give me much time to work on my plan.
“Yes” I nodded.
“If you say so” he replied taking his attention off the case. I had expected him to argue, more preferably beg. In all my years, I have never seen him beg.
We began taking an unfamiliar route I had no idea of,
“This is not the way to my apartment” I raise my concern.
“I know, I’m taking you somewhere else” he stated.
“What?”
