The day of the engagement banquet had finally arrived, and the air was filled with excitement and a hint of nervousness.
I wore a red gown that hugged my figure perfectly, the string of pearls around my neck gleaming softly, and the silver tassel earrings dancing with each movement I made.
Lina was helping me with my hair. “You look absolutely stunning, Your Highness,” she said warmly, securing the last strand of hair with a golden rose-shaped pin.
“Thank you, Lina,” I replied, attempting a smile. “But I can’t help feeling a bit nervous.”
Lina patted my shoulder reassuringly just as Clyde appeared at the door, his presence effortlessly commanding attention. “Don’t be nervous, my love. With you looking this radiant, they should be the ones feeling jittery,” he said with a grin.
