Epilogue My mother had lost weight in my absence. She sat on the couch in her messy, over-furnished lounge. Getting out of the mental institution had taken some time. There had been a legal battle, which was a blur. After what seemed an eternity, my mother was declared my legal guardian. The first days out of the nuthouse were confusing.
