15 Pins and needles prickled my body. My head felt as though it was about to explode. I’d almost forgotten how it felt to have sensation in my limbs. I wasn’t sure the feeling was a good thing. I had trouble thinking, and my memory of the previous day was hazy. I knew something had happened. Something I shouldn’t be happy about. Something painful. Jack was lying on his back on my bed. At least one of us was getting to lie in a bed. “So you don’t remember what happened yesterday?” he asked, as he stared up at the ceiling, his head resting in the palms of his hands. “I’m sure the good doctor will arrange a reminder for you shortly.” The cell door opened behind me as sunlight stole through the window, right on time. Another day in hell began. They whisked me past the other cells. Screams
