Adofo threw a shovelful of earth into the grave and shook his head. “That’s where you are misguided, my friend in Christ. In Alexandria, even the lowliest man, a fellow like me who came to Italy for a better life, knows and reveres the sanctity of Our Lord as truly divine.” He wiped his brow before scooping another shovelful of earth. “To believe that Christ was man trivializes his sanctity.”
