The next morning, Argolicus and Nikolaos headed out to take Severa to the villa. Her face glowed after rest and food. Kunimund rode ahead while Eboric followed.
Argolicus noticed even in the early morning the road was filled with people heading toward the town. How could it all have changed in just two days? He had done nothing to discover what Quintinus had done to get the area in such a fix.
The pedestrians made way for the party, eyeing the weapons on the bodyguards. Many gave Severa a curious look. She was perched behind Nikolaos. The four horses made their way through the foot traffic up the hill. When they reached the villa, Argolicus turned around to look toward the sea.
