After Killian angrily left the meeting with the council elders, he thought about the words they said to him, on his way back home. He hated Derrick so much and could not imagine himself begging him for anything.
One of the council elders had even reminded him that Derrick was stronger than him and he needed to act wisely, pretend to form a peace treaty with Derrick, and strike later when he did not expect. That was a piece of good advice that he would have loved to take but he could not bring himself to beg in front of Derrick.
The council elders claimed that they were afraid of losing him like they lost his brother but they did not know that reminding him about his brother's death only gave him more reasons to reject their idea.
