Beatrice's POV
I met Leo for the first time, when he was sixteen. My mum had just excitedly told us she has gotten a rich man who would take us out of the dirt we called life.
But it just so happen that this rich man was a single father. So along with him, came Leo.
Just to be on the good side of Leo's father, I acted kind towards Leo. Treated him like golden child. But God did I hate him so much!
He’d had that quiet arrogance, I didn't like. I hate kids like him, that were born with privileges, that think it made them more special or some mini god's on earth.
Leo's father basically carried him around on a silver platter. Maids rushed to open doors while yelling, "Young master!"
And the cooks? They made him whatever he wanted, and always served him first before us, before me!
I couldn't ride any car I wanted too, without asking Leo if he wanted to ride the damn car too. He boy had everything handed to him without lifting a finger. And I hated him on sight.
Fücking brats!
But the good news came! Leo's father died!
And because Leo isn't sixteen, my mum became his legal guardian and on behalf of him get to take care of the massive wealth Leo's father left behind.
But there's secret.
Leo doesn't know his father left all his wealth to him, he thinks... his father left it all to my mum.
That is why we have keep Leo really occupied, so he never one day tries to see the lawyer, or do something funny. We have to reduced him to nothing but dust. Take every hope he would be capable of thinking.
And my mother made sure of it. She changed everything, flipping the power.
All the household staffs were fired, the only remaining staff is security and drivers.
No gardeners, cooks, maids, butlers... It had all become Leo's job.
Now he was the one running around with buckets and rags and watering cans.
I loved it.
Every time I saw him scrubbing a floor or carrying laundry baskets, a big spark of satisfaction lit up inside me.
“I really can't get use to how insane your place is.” Rose said, bringing my trip down memory lane to a stop. “When do I get to move in?”
I grinned turning to her, she was in the pool the water a turquoise color around her. I stretched out on the plush lounge chair, the hot fabric clinging to my bikini.
"When you find a man who can afford the property taxes, babe." I said with a wink, then took a slow sip of my mimosa, the bubbles sharp on my tongue.
I'd invited my girlies over, Rose and Jennie for a good time. They've been my best friends since high school, and if anyone know how to put Leo in his place, they were the ones.
“Girl, where the hell is your male servant?” Jenni said, her voice dripping with fake exasperation, sitting up on the lounge chair. "My drink is drier than the Sahara."
I smiled. I liked how she said it. Male servant. It sounded right.
Well.... Time for drama!
I sat up, cupped my hands around my mouth. "Leo!"
My voice bounced off the stone walls of the house. A few seconds later, he appeared at the edge of the patio. Shirt damp with sweat, shorts old and faded. His hair messy from whatever chore he'd been doing. He walked over to me quickly, his eyes on the ground.
“My friend asked for a drink, and you are yet to serve her.” I crossed my arms, "don't tell me you've forgotten your job."
He frowned. “No one asksd me to bring drinks.”
The air went still. Rose got out of the pool, water sliding off her tanned skin. “Oh my god,” she gasped, looking shocked. “Is your male servant calling Jennie a liar?”
Leo’s gaze shifted to her, then back to me. “I didn’t say that. I said no one asked me.”
“Well, I’m—”
"Did you just stare at Jennie boobs?" Jennie exclaimed, cutting me off as she stood to her feet.
"What? He did??" I asked with an exaggerated widened eyes.
Leo shook his head fast, a flicker of genuine shock in his gaze. "I wasn't. I didn't stare."
“I saw it!” Jennie insisted, climbing out of the pool. “He was totally eye-f*****g her. Ugh... So gross.” she shivered.
That was my cue. I swung my legs off the lounge chair and stood. I was in my element. The sun, the fücking power, the audience. I stepped right up to him, and just when he parted his lips to to argue, I rose my hand and landed a slap on his cheek.
His head snapped to the side. His skin instantly flushed red. “You pervert!” I screamed, the word tasting delicious. I slapped him again on the other side, my rings scraping his skin. “How dare you!”
He stood there, taking it. His chest rose and fell. He looked at me, and for a second, I saw rage flashed in his eyes.
“Apologize,” I hissed. "Right now."
Leo looked at me. Really looked, and I saw his fingers curled into a fist. "I didn't do anything. So I won't apologize."
I like when he gets defiant, it thrilled me, because breaking him would be more fun.
"If he won't apologize," Rose lips stretched into a wide smirk, her eyes dancing with excitement. "Then I say we teach him a lesson."
“If he won’t apologize,” Jennie sang, “then I say we teach him a lesson.”
She moved fast. Her fingers, tipped with sharp manicured nails, plunged into his dark hair and yanked, hard. Leo grunted, his body tensing, but he didn’t fight her grip. His eyes never left mine.
“Beatrice,” he said, his voice a rough, strained whisper meant only for me. “I’m your brother. Would you really let them do this?”
The word hung in the hot air. Brother. It was a joke. A pathetic, desperate joke.
Rose barked a laugh, high and delighted. “Did the male servant just say he’s related to you, Beatrice?"
Jennie giggled loud, in a way that could hunt a person for life. "The male trash thinks he is your brother? Ha!”
I gathered the saliva in my mouth, into a one big ball, then I spat it out. It landed on his nose, wet, and satisfying. A glistening blotch that trickled down to his lips. “You could never be my brother, not even in your most wretched dreams,” I spat out, my words laced with venom.
Then I stared at Rose and Jennie, respectively with a knowing look in my gaze. They got the gist immediately, nodding in agreement, a wicked glint in their eyes.
Together, the three of us shoved him backwards, and because he was standing so close to the pool, he fell into the water in a loud splash, that sent water all over the place.
Leo came up coughing, hair plastered to his forehead. He tried to grab the side, but I stepped on his fingers with my bare foot, while I looked down at him with a cunning smirk. "Tonight you're sleeping out here," I said. "Don't you even dare take a step inside the house. Or you are dead."
He stared up at me, chest moving fast. But said nothing. He knew better not to.
I let the threat hang, then I slowly straightened up and turned my back to him.
“Let’s go, girls.” I said, and we all walked away giggling loud, while he shivered in the pool.
You will never amount to anything, Leo. I will make sure of it.
