Chike's pov
I watched Ada leave my office without saying a word to her.
This is the first time someone had said no to me, Anyways, it's her loss, she must know that her rejection is not affecting me in anyway.
Sir, the shareholders are waiting for you.
Akin's voice jolted me back to reality .as he reminded me of the meeting in the conference room. I followed him out of my office, carrying my tablet. As we entered the room, everyone stood up, and I gestured for them to take their seats, settling into the chairman's position.
"Mr. Chairman," Uncle Philip's sarcastic voice cut through the air. I had recently taken on the role of chairman after my father's passing, a position Uncle Philip had hoped to secure. With 20% of the shares, he aimed for the chairmanship, but I, holding 60% of the shares, took on the role.
"Have you gone through the proposal of acquiring Royale Limited?" he asked.
I smiled, aware of his hidden agenda. Royale, a jewelry company, had recently been put up for sale. Akin's research had revealed that 60% of their products were fake, a strategy to mix real and fake items for deceptive sales. What I had discovered was that Royale was owned by Uncle Philip's in-law. He wanted me to acquire the company, taking the fall for selling fake jewelry and tarnishing my image as chairman. I saw through his game.
"Make the arrangements to meet with the CEO," I instructed, deciding to play this strategic game on my terms. The dynamics of power and deception were about to unfold.
