Dad’s voice carried up the stairs, firm and sharp. “Sienna! Jaxon! Downstairs. Now.” Then he headed down the stairs back to the living room. We both froze. My stomach tightened. The way he called our names wasn’t just casual. I glanced at my mirror, brushed down my hair quickly, and hurried out of my room. Jaxon was already at the top of the stairs, his jaw stiff.
