Sienna When Jaxon finally dropped his phone onto the nightstand, I couldn’t stop laughing. The kind of laugh that bubbled out of me until my stomach hurt. “You’re insane,” I whispered, smacking his chest again as I curled into him. “Do you know how close that was? My dad literally asked for me.” He grinned lazily, that half-smirk that always undid me. “Relax. I had it under control. You think I’d let them catch you in my room half-naked? Not a chance.” I shook my head, still giggling, but my chest warmed at the way he said it. He sounded so sure, so protective, like I could actually trust him with every secret. We ended up talking for hours after that. About school. About the match. About stupid memories from when we were younger. And somewhere between the laughs and the little touche
