Sienna The drive back home was slow, the sun dipping low and throwing gold across the road. Kendra rolled the windows down, her curls blowing wildly in the breeze as she grinned at me. “So,” she began, dragging the word out, “are you and Ezra a thing now?” I blinked. “What? No!” She laughed, glancing over like she didn’t believe me for a second. “Come on, Si. I saw the way he hugged you back there. And he couldn’t stop looking at you the whole game.” I groaned. “He’s just friendly.” “Friendly?” She raised an eyebrow. “Friendly doesn’t look like that. Friendly doesn’t hover. I mean—” she giggled, “—he basically looked like a lost puppy waiting for you to pat his head.” I covered my face with my hands. “You’re being dramatic.” “Am I though?” Kendra teased, tapping the steering wheel.
