Zyros’s POV
The sound came again. My door moved though I hadn’t touched it. My hand went to the dagger on my table before I turned sharply just as someone slipped into the room.
I didn’t wait to see who it was. My wolf lunged forward with me. In one move I had the figure slammed against the wall, then shoved onto the bed. My claws pushed halfway out, grazing the stranger’s throat.
“Who sent you?!” I growled.
The man gasped under my hold. “Please, don’t kill me!” I narrowed my eyes, bringing the lantern closer to see his face clearly.
“I have something to say,” he said quickly, his voice breaking. “I’m not here to kill you.”
I pressed harder, just enough to draw a little blood. “Then why sneak into my chamber?”
He swallowed. “Because I knew you wouldn’t listen otherwise.”
