The The trip to Black Krest proved futile. Not only was I not disturbed by official matters, but I also got to talk with Hazel and Maverick about my concerns. They, just like the guys and myself have no idea where to start the search from. It was amusing when Hazel had suggested that Euphrano should pretend to be human. Any supernatural can tell what a person is at a glance. And a powerful one like Euphrano can never stay in hiding. Not that I would have let her either! "She was lucky we got to her first. As you had suspected an assassin was sent after her but I am sorry, I couldn't catch him" Badurad was briefing me on Laelia. "They are too predictable. Not only did I get upset over the injuries those cowards inflicted on her, but I also made a doctor check on her. They must have assumed I had something to do with her" Adalberht from what I heard had invested so much on his daughter, that he wouldn't want to take any chances. My actions might have made him think of Laelia as a threat to his ambitions hence he would kill her "She is inside," he said opening the door for me. Laelia was seated next to the window. "You are back" it wasn't a question so I didn't bother responding. "I trust you have been fine" Badurad had brought her into his home. That was surprising but I decided against questioning him on why. He could be in trouble if they ever get to know about this. "Oh yes, Badurad has been a kind host. Unlike some, he didn't hit me into an unconscious state and let me sleep on the cold prison floor" I eye-rolled. She wasn't my guest at least not until she tells me honestly why she was here "What is that?" I questioned pointing at the weird-looking liquid she had beside her. "My drug. It is the reason why I am still alive now" she smiled. Is she stupid or stewpid? I could kill her knowing that information. "Why do you trust me?" I asked taking a seat. Only when you trust someone will you be so relaxed. I can't perceive any fear in her. "Does it seem like I do?" Not another round of questioning each other. "Do you not?" I asked with a raised brow "You tell me, should I?" Oh really, let's see how long you can play this with me. "It seems to me you want to" I stated and she laughed "How hilarious. Because from where I am, it seems to me you wish I would trust you" what?! How...when?! "Well, you are mistaken. I don't care if you do or not" I told her. This interaction was quite entertaining even if she was being difficult. "Oh but you do care Azariah, ooops that should be King Tristan for me right. I should only call you that when I start ruling next to you" she winked at me "You are being delusional and I will suggest you seek professional help before it gets out of hand" I advised. Rule next to me! In your dreams Laelia. Even if she was lucky enough to win, I will never crown this headache my Queen! "Thank you for your kind advice, Your Majesty. I will put it into use if I ever need it" she stood up and curtsied before sitting back down. She is insane, "You are probably beyond treatment" tsk tsk tsk. "Tell me Laelia, why are you here really" is she by any chance acquainted with her. Is that why she seems so relaxed? "I knew you wanted me to trust you" she grinned causing me to heave a sigh. "Hmm let's see, seeing how you went through troubles to save me, not that you did anything yourself aside from giving orders, oh, and do not expect a thank you because I never asked for help. I might be weak in terms of powers but I trained, trained enough to beat you in physical battle. That assassin would have had a tough time killing me, that is if he doesn't end up dead" a braggart then... "I will keep that in mind" let's see how long you will last before they kill you! "My parents are away on a trip and my sibling is a bit busy with things. They worried I would be left all alone so I came here. I figured you will fall in love with me, I mean I am such a great person right? Only a fool, not that I am calling you one but only fools wouldn't want to marry me. Are you one Your Majesty?" I chuckled at her game. I tell her I am not, then she will conclude I will marry her and if I refuse, I am confirming myself to be a fool. Her parents are on a trip... The first time I came visiting here was with my mom and sister, my dad had been so jealous when we showed him pictures. Her sister?! I looked at Laelia, this time I really looked at her. The familiarity I had sensed now made sense "Where is she?" I asked to her surprise "Who is she? My mother?" She asked but her continuous blinking showed she was nervous, so you are the sister Phrano always spoke of... why do I not recall her calling you a complete psychotic headache! "Euphrano. Where is she?" What does this mean by doing this? Why did she send her sister only and not show herself to me?! Is this her way of telling me she us watching? "Who is that?" She is lying. She is definitely lying. Her heartbeat, her flustered and nervous face gave her out. "Who do you think she is?" I asked her as I tried to calm my excitement. She is my ticket to finding her. "A lady obviously" she said in a dull tone and I chuckled "And your sister" I finished fir her. I couldn't let her drag this any further. I needed to know soon! "Really, and here I thought I had only a brother" she is lying! "You are lying!" I said, my voice raising a bit more than needed "Well except he had stayed with disguise all my life and I must tell you, it will be a hard one to do. I have only a brother and no sister" she finished with a shrug. "Gosh he is a man w***e and a man. He got it too" she pointed to between my legs. Was she truly lying or did I only hope she wasn't... I left her room not knowing whether or not I should believe her. I knew she was lying but why? Why risk it to here just to lie to me?! "Did you find anything out?" The guys had waited for me in my room. We thought maybe if I went l alone, she will talk, how wrong were we. I told them everything "she definitely told me she has a sister and the familiarity... She must be lying right?" I asked them but they couldn't be sure. "Not a lot of cursed have their families complete, it will be hard to get any information about her" indeed most cursed are abandoned at birth. Some get killed by their mom at birth to avoid the shame and stigma it brings into their life. The few whose families stayed together always made sure to keep people away. "It will be hard but not impossible" I corrected. Laelia definitely knows my destined and I was going to find out what she knows! "I will get to work then" Acacius told us before finishing his glass. "We will find her even if Laelia didn't come here. Don't worry man" Badurad gave me a shoulder pat and left too. Just as he was about to close the door "I will try and see if I could find out more from her" I nodded hoping he could.
