Chapter 4

686 Words
Aridam stared into the night life of the city that had been the home to his family for many generations. His family had built this place from the very ground and it was now one of the richest place on the planet. This city, in fact, the whole state, was the territory of the Donahue family and everyone one knew it – which was why it was the best place for Maria to come to. Due to the fact that this was their territory, it si difficult for the Dragonstorm Cooperation to have a stable ground here, and the same can be said for the Donahue Enterprises. Maria’s father was indeed blind to his daughter’s potentials when he didn’t think twice about her relocation here. Anyone who saw her for who she was – not a timid woman – they’d have been suspicious about her decisions. But no matter, it was in his favour. Truth be told, Aridam was fascinated by Maria. He had heard about her achievements from his spies and they don’t show her justice with how smart she was. She was like a real life Tony Stark, her ADHD making it impossible for her to be idle and thus it had her creating. It had been three months since the start of their plan and Aridam was not disappointed. The sales for Dragonstorm had decreased a little since Maria had resigned from her usual job position and was now a manager in a branch that was finding it hard to be stable here. She was willingly not doing much, all her attention on his company, her ideas refreshing. The current lunch of Maria’s project had been a hit and his company was soaring as high as ever, to the disgruntlement of Maria’s father from what he had been told. The old goat was seriously ill and yet he was still looking after his company. Aridam had to applaud him for them but he was still a fool. It was funny that he was choosing the child who was in cohorts with his mother and two other board members to end his existence. Aridam knew that when Maria’s father died, sooner than later with how his health was spiraling, Maria’s step brother might move to end her, eliminating the competition – which was why he had her move closer to him. It would be tough for Victor to act foolishly her if he does comes for her. A call distracted him from his thoughts and he picked up his phone. “Yes?” Aridam was silent as the person on the other end spoke. His eyes narrowed in distaste, anger brimming in his blue eyes. “The man isn’t even dead and the brat is already making a move to end his sister?” The voice replied. “The step mother, huh. What a disgusting woman. But then again she never liked Maria. Not even Maria moving far away would quench her desire. After all, she did had a hand in Morgan’s death.” Another minute of talking from the person on the other end. “Keep tabs on her. Any plans that would affect Maria, I want it destroyed. Do I make myself clear?” A reply from the person on the other end. “Good. Call me when that stuff is done.” Aridam ended the call. “Calvin.” The man in question came into view. “Prepare dinner for two. It’s high time I show Maria her new home. It would do her well to get acquainted to the house she’d be living it for the next twenty years or so.” Forever if he had his way. “Right away, sir.” Aridam stood up, donned in alone a sweatpants, his muscled body in full view. He had scars here and there, some deep and some narrowed. He had a tattoo on his back and his left arm. All in all, he was a delightful scene and he too knew it. He headed over to his room, going to take a bath and prepare for his night with Maria.
