Grandma

"Wait!" she yelled at him. "Mr. Psycho, you did not take the free items." "I don't want the free items." He looks at her. "You can keep them." "It's a box of candies." He smiles knowingly. "I bet you're low on sugar. Take it." "These candies are for my little brother." He lies through his teeth. His younger brother hates eating sweets. However, Noah can't say no to chocolate. "My brother will be upset if he doesn't get it..." "Sure, I believe you," she tells him happily. She doesn't believe him at all. "I have it here." She leans behind the counter to pick up something. "Hello?" Noah grimaces when he doesn't get up. He looked at the clock. It has been two minutes. He looks around and notices that there is no one behind the counter. "Strange." He looks around. "Can she just leave the store like this?" *** A zesty lemon scent suddenly filled the air, catching my attention. I'm not in the store anymore. I hit my forehead. "Not again." "Little Martha." Grandma smiles at me. Being a time traveler gives you some perks, like visiting your grandparents. "i***t, you're back again." "It's about time, grandma." I'm sitting on the porch. "What year is it?" "Pette got married last week." He lays out the clothes on the line. "I am overjoyed beyond words!" I looked at her. "My parents are now on their honeymoon with my big brother. Congratulate them on me." "I can't do this," he tells me solemnly. "If I tell them their daughter is from the future, you might cease to exist." "It might not be such a terrible notion." I tend to lean towards pessimism, considering the circumstances. "If I don't exist, I can't be killed." She came up to me and lightly tapped my cheek. "What did I tell you?" "Never reveal the future," I told her quietly. "Then don't do it." She runs her hand over my head. "Little Martha, learn to master your talents." "I'll try." I have been fishing since I was fourteen. Currently, my grandmother has been dead for over twenty years. My grandmother had three children. My father and another aunt were born normally. But my oldest aunt, who disappeared about two decades ago, was like me. No one knows where he is. My grandmother suspects that the guards took her into custody for using her powers unlawfully. These rangers, or peacekeepers, come from a mysterious organization that wants to keep things in order. They are also born with special abilities. Guess what they hate the most? People like me mess up with time. When I told my father about the strange things that happened to me, he was not surprised. My mother was frightened by the revelation. My family's secret was revealed to me. No one knows the exact reason. Some relatives in my family were born with special abilities. Yes, talents. Some can move through walls. Some can become invisible. Some of them can turn into animals or birds. Some of them can do it all. I am someone who was born with more than one talent. I can walk in dreams and spacetime. It's not fun because I can't control it. Because of my ability to time travel, my parents are afraid that I will disappear, like my aunt or other relatives who had the same ability. "Where's grandpa?" I'm sitting on the porch. Currently, my grandfather has Alzheimer's disease. He can't even recall his own name, lost in the shadows of his mind. I cannot disclose his past illness. It is strictly forbidden to tell them about your future. "He went to the market." He gave me lemon pickles to eat. "If he had known you were coming today, he would have stayed home due to his fondness for your visits." "I would have liked that." The pickle is delicious. My father always talked about my grandmother's cooking. He misses it very much. I can't help but laugh when I see him handing me a pickle to eat. "Do I have these lunch boxes to take with me in the future?" "No, I'll just put the lunch boxes here." He puts them close to me. "If anyone wants to catch them before they leave, he can. I'll do it without any trouble. Do you understand, little Martha?". "I see that you enjoy bending the rules." I grabbed the lunch box. "Grandma, could Aunt Ella handle it?" Grandma looked at me sharply. "Yes, he could. He loved to travel at different times. That's why I'm worried about you." *** "You!" Noah screams as he sees her suddenly appear on the floor with a lunchbox in his lap. He also seemed surprised to see her. "What the hell? You just teleported." "What?" She stands up and laughs. "No, that's because you wear dark sunglasses at night. You can't see people." "No, I actually saw you suddenly appear there as a ghost." He took off his sunglasses. He notices that she is barefoot. "I..." She looks down at her feet and wiggles her toes. "Oh, I must have forgotten my shoes again," she chuckles. "Are you freakin serious? How can people suddenly disappear and reappear? It would violate the laws of physics if people could do that. Life is not a fantasy." Noah shakes his head in disbelief, still trying to process what just happened. She stepped closer to him. "You look familiar," she said, looking suspiciously and raising her brows. “What are you doing here? You were giving me free chocolate." He blinks as he realizes his situation. He tried to change the subject. "We are out of them," she says, looking at him apologetically. "Your eyes are green? Are you a foreigner?" "No, I wear contact lenses. This is the current trend." He mentally curses the girl. His cover is almost blown. It's time to leave this place. "I'm leaving." He turns and walks quickly. He can't come back to this shop. He shouldn't have left his house like that. When it's revealed that he walks around at night to buy candy, he becomes the subject of mockery. He needs to be more careful next time and come up with a better excuse. Maybe he should consider finding a new place to satisfy his sweet tooth cravings. "I know you." She shouts after him. "You are… Noah... I-I recognize you."
