The photo

1152 Words
Noah looks through her phone's photos. The image was absent. Strange. Her phone has five numbers on it: Molly, her brother, her mother, her father, and a restaurant delivery service. "She is a depressed person." Noah felt a little sorry for Martha. He then checks his contact numbers on his phone. Three people are on his phone: his mother, his younger brother, and Manager Daisy. "I'm fine without people." A murmur escaped Noah's lips. Everything is taken care of for him by Manager Daisy. Ever since his debut, she has taken care of everything. He is incredibly reliant on her. However, that's alright. "She is not in her dormitory." Manager Daisy enters the vehicle, her expression frustrated. He had never seen her appear so worn out and irritated at the same time. He now knows the exact number of storegirls needed to enrage Manager Daisy. As he peers out the car window, he gives himself a mental reprimand. Actually, it's his fault. This wouldn't have happened if he hadn't gone there at night. The storegirl passed out, and he ought to have called Manager Daisy first. "Is that not her?" She was wearing a coat in the summer, which caught Noah's attention as he narrowed his eyes. "Hey there, store girl!" When Martha spots him, she stops in her tracks. As if she hasn't noticed them, she turns around, blinks her half-moon-shaped eyes, and moves in the other direction. "How absurd!" Noah exits the vehicle. He lets out a maniacal yell. "Just stop there." Martha hears him yelling and takes off running. Noah takes off after her. What game is she currently playing? Whoa! She hits the pole hard. *** My brain aches. Who made the decision to place poles in the middle of the road? Running away from someone can be a true hindrance. "You're conscious." The elderly physician grinned warmly. "How are you feeling right now?" The same physician? Have I visited the future? "Is it October or May?" "Maybe?" With concern and doubt in his eyes, the aged physician pressed his lips together. "Can you still recall your name?" "Yes, I do." I exhaled with relief. The realization that I'm at Noah's apartment makes my head hurt even more. It's the third time I've woken up in his apartment. At some point in the future, In the here and now, twice. I'm stupid if I still can't identify this place. The doctor gives Martha some advice on her recovery and then departs. I pushed it aside. Noah and Manager Daisy are observing me as though I owe them the world. I keep a straight face and try not to let his intense stare get to me. He stares unblinkingly. I also don't blink. But since my eyes are happy when they are staring at a handsome guy, it is his loss. "Oh no!" Manager Daisy folds her arms. "Why?" "Why?" I sigh. What put me in this predicament? Why have I returned here? "What made you flee?" Noah glares at me. "My photos of me chasing my pretend homeless girlfriend are all over the internet because of you." "You want to be homeless with a girlfriend?" That a famous person would date someone like that astounds me. "May I view her photo?" He displays his phone to me. All I can see on the screen is my face captured by the front camera. I have a tangled mess of hair. My forehead is covered in a large bandage. Does it seem like it will leave a scar? Then I remember that when she was being killed, I didn't see the scar on my future self. Not a scar, then. "What do you see?" He asked a serious question. "When you want to date me, how could you go out like this?" "You are the reason I am in this condition." I balled up my hands. Right now, I want to kill this guy. "You came after me. Why are they pursuing me? Nobody was killed by me. You ought to be the one doing it." "Why am I the one to do it?" He gave me a glare. "Neither did I kill anyone." "All right." I let my fists drop. "No one was killed by you." I'll be killed by you later on. "What is the issue with you?" His forehead had veins popping. Are you truly a fan of mine? "No, I'm not." I happily grinned at him. "I'm not at all fond of you. It bothers me to look at your face. My eyes hurt from it." "You!" He suddenly gets to his feet. "All you brought me was trouble. My life has been completely crazy since I met you." "It wasn't made crazy by me." I put up my palms. "I'm not to blame. I'm not involved in anything you do." "Miss Martha, you mentioned unnecessary things, and that's the reason." Manager Daisy appeared composed and at ease. With a smile that says, "You don't have the ability to play games with me, child," she sits across from me, quoting her words accurately. "What did I say?" I gave her the same grin and said, "Come on." "It was mentioned that you were dating Noah. You acknowledged it in front of the reporters from the news." She bent over. "Noah had to make the public admission due to you. The article revealing he is dating you has already been published by me." "Withdraw those articles." I responded in an emotionless tone. "I don't intend to date him." "However...you..." She appears to be agitated. She draws in a long breath. "Do you want to sabotage his career, Miss Martha?" "Not at all." All I want is to avoid him as much as possible. I'm not even interested in finding out why he would try to murder me. I think he wants to kill me because I unintentionally became pregnant with his child. I have no idea what sort of person I'll be in the future. But all I have to rely on is who I am right now. I will never have a personal relationship with him. "Would you like to alter your statement with the police?" Her eyes enlarged. "Miss Martha, we've decided to follow your instructions. He'll spend the next six months dating you. Are you not content? Would you like something additional?" Noah says to her, "Manager, I don't want to be close to this manipulating creature." "Please, escort me to the police." "I'm not even close to done controlling you yet." I scoff. "I could have already manipulated you if that was my intention. Are you aware of my unique abilities? It's easy for me to make you..." I closed my mouth. Why am I bragging about my special paranormal skills to my murderer? My only skills are time travel and a dream walk. "See?" He laughs mockingly. "This is your true nature."
