Noah in trouble

1085 Words
Suddenly, the store is eerily quiet. I can hear my heartbeat. My killer straightens his back and laughs quietly. He takes off the mask and sunglasses. I step back, replaying my words in my mind. I have said enough to suggest that he may have been offended. He wouldn't kill me for that, would he? If he gets hurt, I would rather be sued. I don't want to die. I am only twenty-one years old. My life has just begun. I am graduating from university this year. I want to experience both the good and bad aspects of life. I want to navigate the challenging process of job hunting after college, facing the competitive job market, and preparing for interviews with a mix of frustration and determination. I want to fall in love with a kindred spirit, have a beautiful wedding ceremony surrounded by loved ones, and eventually raise children in a warm and loving home. I know they might face unique challenges similar to mine. When I die, my parents will blame themselves for letting me go to another city to study. My big brother is struggling with depression because he feels the absence of his sweet little sister, who used to bring light and joy into his life. My best friend is inconsolable, tears streaming down her face as she decides to honor our friendship by naming her daughter after me, a testament to our unbreakable bond. I don't want to be the cause of such pain and heartache; I want to escape that fate. I want to live, to breathe, and to see another day filled with possibilities and dreams. I should run to escape this danger that looms over me. Yes, I run as fast as my trembling legs can carry me. My legs will not listen to my commands. I am weak. My heart races like a wild stallion. It makes me nervous because I know I'm nervous and scared. My vision is blurry. I can hear his loud footsteps and breathing. He presses his hand against the wall next to my head and looks at me. "Listen." His voice was low and hoarse. "I will kill you if I ever..." *** "Noah, I did not know you'd dress up like a psychopath and kidnap women at night." Someone shouted loudly. "How many times have I told you to get over your chocolate addiction? You're twenty, for God's sake. Now what do we do?" "It's not my fault, Chief Daisy." Noah replied, clearly upset and clumsy as an old man. "I just wanted to buy chocolate. Suddenly, she called my name and passed out on the floor." "She just passed out." The woman laughed. "You didn't do anything? You want me to believe that." "I didn't do anything extreme." Noah's voice becomes lower, barely audible. "I might have threatened her a little..." "Did you threaten her?" That's good. I keep pretending I'm asleep. "Yeah, I wanted to scare her a little. If she told the media that she saw me buying candy at the store, it might become..." "Don't do that if you ever carry this." "Out of control." Noah's voice trails off as he realizes the potential consequences of his actions. The woman nods in understanding, her expression serious. “Manager Daisy, I didn't even stop threatening; I did not know what to do. So I brought her here. The doctor said she had a panic attack. She's fine, but she's not awake." Panic attack? I see. I opened one eye slightly to look at them. The woman is over thirty years old and quite elegant. She has dark hair and piercing eyes. Her lips lose color as she speaks, showing her inner turmoil. Her narrowed eyes and brewing storm of emotions hinted at his growing anger. "You even called the doctor before you called me." She gave him an angry look. I'm glad I'm not in his position. He looks like a little mouse in front of an angry cat. "I was worried. What if she dies?" Noah gathered his courage and looked at her. “What if she had a heart attack because she saw me? You know, she is a fan." "If she dies, you should call the store's police and the doctor. Then you should have left before they arrived. I would have taken care of everything." She points to the clock on the wall. "But you call me now? Do you know your situation?" "I could not leave her there alone. She's a woman." He hangs his head like a sweet mouse. I feel moved by his actions. My killer does not seem so bad. He could have left me there, but he could not because he was worried about me. "I thought I would talk to her about it and pay her to stay shut after she wakes up, but now...” 'Now what? What happened? I crave more details and a deeper understanding of the unfolding events. Please continue to elucidate the situation. I don't want money. I just want you to stop killing me.' Martha said in her mind. "Someone saw you rob her last night. They called the police. They saw your face on CCTV." He sits down and covers his face with his hands. "Why did you not cover your face? You even used your car. They must be here as we speak. Media... They can destroy stars like you in an instant. I can't... Goddd..." I see. I have the upper hand in this situation. "Only this girl can save you." I closed my eyes before she turned around to face me. "It depends on her statement." I realize I hold the upper hand in this situation. "I must convince her to speak in my favor. If she remains silent, I am doomed." "What should we do?" he asks in a serious voice. "Wake her up first." I felt someone approaching me. Do I dare awaken now? No, they would know I was listening. *splash* "Argh!" Suddenly, a bucket of cold water splashed on my head. I open my eyes to see the girl standing in front of me, a mischievous grin on her face. "It looks like you are awake now," she says, amusement evident in her voice. I stand up, lose my balance, and fall to the floor. I cough loudly and wipe my face. I looked at her. "Who are you?" Manager Daisy gave me a slow smile. "Nice to meet you. I'm Daisy Carter."
