7.) Ignoring at it's Best

I walk up to Ivy and give her a wide smile and she raises a brow, looking me up and down. "Don't you look good." She says, coming in for a hug as she grips my arms. I hug her back, feeling slightly guilty that I felt her up a bit as I hugged her back. "How are you?" I ask and she stretches a bit and shrugs. "Bored, I'm going for a swim." She says and walks past me completely and strips out of her shorts. Her bathing suit only really covered her ass and that was it, which is surprising to me as she dives in. I turn back to Bruce and give him and smile as he frowns at her.

"Hey man, it was a victory getting her to come here. I'll count my blessings." I say and he nods and goes to join her in swimming. I choose a seat near the fence and decide to relax and catch some sun. I close my eyes and feel warm all over from the sun and also from the sounds of laughter and happiness in the air.

I feel a cast of shade go across my eyes and I peek an eye open to see Ivy, positioning herself in a seat next to me. She leans back and glances over at me as she sees me peeking.

"Like what ya see?" She asks coyly and I smirk, sitting up a bit. "You know I always do." I say and she smirks, running a hand down her glistening legs. "Wyatt, why were you so persistent in inviting me?" She asks, rolling over to prop her head upon her hand.

I smile at her with a dazed look and am brought out of it just as quickly when I hear a voice. A voice that made me chill to the bone. "Wyatt, what no invite?" My neighbor Tami asks, leaning over the fence and smiling at me. I sit up and smile at her, trying to be kind. "Sorry, friends and family sort of thing." I say and she furrows her brows. "Oh hi Ivy, I haven't seen you in a long time." She says and Ivy looks annoyed at her and brushes her off continuing to look at me. "Uh-huh." She says and I look back at Tami. "I'm in the middle of a conversation. You can come over if you'd like." I say and she smiles and nods, walking off.

I turn back to Ivy and compose myself again. "Because I miss you. I want you back in my life." I say and she smirks and bites her lip in a seductive manner. "I could make that happen." She says and looking me up and down and I shake my head. "Not just as a f**k buddy Ivy." I say and she frowns and looks angry as she scoffs. "You're a hypocrite, you f**k for a living." She says and I sit up. "Those girls are pointless to me. You don't need screwing in your life right now. You need someone to love you." I say and take her hand in mine. She snatches it away and leans close to my face. "You don't know what I need." She seethes out and I raise a brow.

"Oh really? Because it looks to me that you have been screwing those two guys to fill a deep void of insecurity that your father cast onto you." I say and I regret it the moment it flew out my mouth. Her face falls for a moment but comes right back to anger before forming a devilish smirk. 

"Three." She says simply and I raise my brow in question.

"Who's the third?" I ask and she looks to someone behind me and I see Xander talking with Big Ernie and laughing at some joke.

"Xander?" I ask and she nods and I feel betrayed. I wondered why she kept him so close, I knew they were friends but I thought he never had a chance with her. "Yeah, I mean do you think I live with someone as fine as him and don't get my share out of it?" She says and I stand up.

"You guys live together?" I ask in a loud voice and glance around and make sure everyone was still in their own conversations. I close my eyes and fume. All the questions I asked Xander and he said he didn't know. He damn well knew. He knew. He's a f*****g liar. I was beyond angry.

I walk off and go straight to him. What I did next was not my finest moment but I couldn't hold back.

I take Xander by the shoulder and throw him to the ground. I knew Xander was in love with her. He was trying to take what she and I had. He thought this was his chance to weasel in his way in.

"What the f**k you prick?" Xander screams, scurrying to stand up. "You're screwing Ivy that's what." I say and throw a swing at him, and hit him in the side of the head. Large arms wrap around me and pick me up, containing me from killing him for this.

"Take it to the side of the yard, you're scaring everyone." Ernie says and I jerk loose out of his arms and tackle Xander to the ground again.

"You're really going to steal my happiness?" I scream as I lay punches down and this time dainty hands pull back on me and I fall off of Xander.

"She was mine first." He screams and I lunge forward and punch him square in the forehead, making him fall back in a daze. "Wyatt!" Ivy screams and I turn around, grabbing her by the hand and dragging her off to the side of the house.

"What has gotten into you. The trainer, the sadist, the dude who used to be your f*****g stepbrother. Do you have standards anymore? I mean what the f**k?" I ask and she waves her arm in the air and shrugs. "I mean what do you want me to say. I'm living my life I-" I stop listening when I notice something about her arm as she's talking.

Fucking tracks...

I grip her wrist and look at them closely and she pulls her arm away and turns to walk off. Her swimsuit had ridden up and I saw what was underneath her suit.

Her ass cheek was bruised and had a f*****g gash. I pull her back and lift the material to further exam but she turns around and punches me.

I stumble back and she runs off.

She was f*****g hurt. She was doing drugs. She was screwing to fill a hole in her life. I couldn't process everything.

"Where is everyone going?" I ask as I dab my nose which had blood seeping out of it. "They felt it was best to leave." My aunt says and she holds Venus to her side. "I'm going to let Venus spend the night with me if that's okay...." she says and I nod and look around. The only people left were Ernie, Eli, Xander, Bruce, and Aubrie. Everyone else had left after my fight. "I love you, Venus. I'm sorry you had to see that." I say and lean down, giving her a kiss. She gives me a hug and kisses my nose, not saying a word. She looked a little frightened and I hated that I didn't keep my cool for her sake.

Xander looks up at me and I sigh and motion for him to follow me as I walk inside. "You better not punch me again." He says as we walk into my room and I point to the bed. I go to the bathroom and get my first aid kid for his face. I bust his cheek and forehead open and it needed some care.

"Get a couple in." I say as I set down the first aid kit beside him and he raises a brow. "f*****g hit me man. Get your shots in." I say and stand there with my hand up and he stands up and raises his hand. I close my eyes and I feel him grab my hand and lower it.

I open my eyes and he brings me in for a hug. I was shocked but that overall feeling had me feeling vulnerable.

"I'm sorry." He says and pulls away.

He sits down on the bed and holds himself and looks up at me. "You saw them didn't you." He asks and I raise a brow.

"The bruises, or maybe even the track marks from Justin." He says and I bend down in front of him. "You knew and you hadn't done anything yet?" I ask and he nods and runs a hand through his hair.

"What was I to do, piss her off, have her run around on the streets. Maybe go hook up with J.T like she does whenever I argue with her?" He asks with a crack in his voice and I go to speak but he wipes his eyes and sighs. "I failed her." He says and I turn and sit beside him. "We both did buddy." 

Sitting there with Xander had me thinking. All of this had to be fixed. It had to be stopped. Ivy has been through too much and she was at her breaking point.
