28.) The Deed is Done
I open the doors of the palace with my key and step in. I walk to Max's office to see if he was up and sure enough he was doing paperwork. I knock on the door and he looks up at me. "You're earlier than I expected." He says and I nod, leaning against the door nervously. "I felt you deserved many explanations and I wanted to be on time and ready for whatever you have for me." I say and I catch myself looking down not wanting to meet his gaze. He was my boss and my family. I felt like at that moment I had let him down in two ways. "Then come in my office." He says and I nod, walking in and closing the door. I sit down in front of him and take a deep breath. I wasn't a kid so it's not like I was going to get grounded or something. Just possibly fired.
