"Ivy Lynn, wow long time no see." Michael says with a smile as he ends his phone call shooting her a pearly white smile. She simply nods and glances at me for only a moment and I step forward to give him a piece of my mind. I wanted him dead. I wanted to make him feel so much pain it wasn't even funny. Ivy places a hand on my stomach to stop me from going forward and she looks up at me shaking her head. "And who is this?" He asks and I choose to speak for her. "Wyatt Princeton, I'd say its a pleasure but I'd be lying." I say through gritted teeth and she raises a brow at me. "Did Ivy find a boyfriend? Wow man, you must have low standards." He says with a snide chuckle and she rolls her eyes at him.
"Well it was nice seeing you, we must being going now." She says, grabbing my hand and he places a hand on her shoulder stopping her. "Ivy, why are you even back in town. I'm surprised you can even have the courage to show your face around here. Seeing as you went to prison for attempted murder." He says and she scoffs.
"Same way you can walk around here and act like I wanted everything Prom Night." She spits out at him and felt a tingle go through my body. I love to see her defend herself. I look when she is a spitfire... well to anyone really. "Oh please, we both know you wanted every bit of it." He says and crosses his arms. He looks at me again and I roll my eyes. "Why don't you take a picture, it'll last longer."
He chuckles and takes a full walk around me. "Sorry, how could I not admire all of your w*********h glory. What did you do Ivy, meet this one in prison while you were there? Huh, a prison love story. How cute." He says and runs a hand through his hair. "Michael, I have a question for you and I do hope you will be honest with me." Ivy says and he nods.
"Michael, I just want to know how does it feel to be a pathetic waste of space that preys on women to make you feel like the alpha male. How does it feel to walk around like you have all of this power but really it's you piggybacking off of your daddy? How does it feel to walk around thinking your hung like a horse only to find out you're actually hung like a baby in January? I want to know how you live with knowing that none of your friends actually enjoy your company, they just enjoy your money. Cause I really wanna know how you live with yourself." At the end of her long rant, she was inches away from his face, seething. I could see the anger radiating off of her and I could see she wasn't going to back down. Michael shakes his head and raises his hand as if he was going to hit her.
I step forward and grab him by his tie, lifting him onto his tiptoes. "Don't you even think about it." I say and he throws his hands up in surrender. I drop him back down and he looks at Ivy and gets close. "Ivy, I want you to know how ridiculous you sound. You are nothing. You come from nothing. You are the girl in high school that gave good head to whoever wanted it. You are the fat girl that was invisible to everyone but your little friends. No one cares about you. You were nothing and you still are nothing. Don't try to belittle me when you aren't anything yourself. I have to go, but please, the next time we see each other while I am in town act like you don't know me."
With that, he leans away from her and a man taps Michael on the shoulder. He turns around with a complete shift of his face and smiles wide. I want to punch him so bad. I have never wanted to ruin someone so much in my entire life. He was scum. He was gum on the bottom of my shoe.
"Mr.Flare, the reporters are looking for you upstairs in the pediatric unit for storytime with the kids." He says looking at his clipboard and Michael nods. "Ah yes, how silly of me to forget I was just catching up with some old friends. I must be off Ivy, but please have an amazing stay while you are in town. Duty calls for your future Mayor of Eden." He says and gives her a quick hug, and pulls me in for one too.
I had never seen someone so fake. So two-faced. With that, he walks off with his little minion following behind him closely. I turn to Ivy and she rushes towards the exit of the hospital in a quick sprint. I run after her and find her sitting in front of my car on the ground crying. She was hugging her knees, sobbing to the point where she is shaking.
I sit down beside her and rest my arms on my elbows. It was silent for a moment as I searched for the right words to say. I knew she needed someone right now and it was going to be me. You've got this man, just be yourself.
"Ivy, I'm proud of you. How you handled everything in there, how you stood up for yourself and stood your ground." I say and she shakes her head and looks at me. "Wyatt, I want to go home. I don't want to be here. I came as Bruce asked, but now I have to leave. Let's go right now." She says and stands up. I stand up quickly and shake my head. I hold her face as she covers it shaking her head in a fit. "I don't want to hear that Ivy. Listen, you came and I'm glad you did. I need you to stay though, this is important Ivy. You can start your new relationship with your father. No one gets this opportunity. You have to seize it. You can't let that prick ruin this for you." I say and she starts hyperventilating. She puts her arms on top of her head to calm her breathing and I pull her in for a hug. I pull her tight to my chest and run my hands against her hair.
I needed her to be okay. We stood there for what felt like only a moment, but I knew it was really about 15 minutes. Her breaths calm down and she eventually pulls away and looks up at me. Her eyes were red and puffy, and so was the button of her nose. She looks so sad and pitiful and she offers me a faint smile. She grabs the sides of my face and gets on the tips of her toes.
We make eye contact and she looks down at my lips. I can't help but do the same to hers. They were so soft, plump,... addicting. I notice her bite her bottom lip and she looks back up into my eyes. She leans forward, her breath fanning over my lips. God, I wanted to lean in so bad. I had to let her make the first move though. Her lips brush mine but land on my cheek in a split second. She falls back to the flats of her feet while she still holds my face. Something that I loved about her was that she wasn't too short. She was actually kind of tall for a girl. I know I was smiling like an i***t from that small gesture. I know it.
"Thank you Wyatt, for everything." She says and I nod. She lets go of my face and run a hand through my hair. "What do you say we go out to eat then check into a hotel? " She nods and I give her hand a squeeze. "You pick, take me to your favorite place in town." I say with a bow and she giggles a little. She returns the bow and walks to the passenger side of the car. "Well, let's go, my good sir. We must not keep Chile Rojo waiting."
I chuckle at this and run around the car to get in. This was a great step. I see bits of Ivy coming to the surface. My Ivy. The one I love.
