They both went down after that incident and Leon turned on the TV while Eloise was making popcorn.
“What movie do you want to watch, love?” Leon shouted so that she could hear him from the kitchen.
“You choose,” Eloise shouted back.
When the popcorn was ready, she brought it back to the living room and laid next to Leon. He placed his arms on her shoulder which made Eloise lean her body towards him. He played the movie and they started watching in silence.
It was a horror movie but not like other ladies, Eloise wasn’t that scared. She has a demon right next to her so what’s there to be scared about? Even so, he was the demon prince so all could show up and she’d still be safe as heck.
“Why do they scare people like that?” Eloise asked.
“Well, like humans, demons are created differently too. There are scary demons that are made to scare because they find fun to it. There are evil demons who possess anything they want because their past life was horrible. There are demons who just really hate humans so they find their suffering satisfying. Some demons hate humans because they can’t be like them and instead have to suffer from hell-”
“Why do they suffer in hell?” Eloise cut him off.
“Because they were horrible as human beings. Some demons are given a choice whether they want to be reincarnated as humans but some demons have no choice but to stay as a demon,” Leon explained.
“Okay. Continue, please.”
“There are demons that are made to serve the higher-ups like us. Some demons were made to use magic-”
“I thought all of you knows magic?” Eloise asked, suddenly feeling confused.
“No, all of us from the royal blood knows magic. It comes to us naturally but most of the demons don’t have magic so some studies it.”
“Oh, continue again, please,” Eloise said.
“And lastly, there are royal demons.”
“How would you become a king then? If your mother and father don’t age-”
“We age, love. Just not as quickly as humans,” Leon cut her off.
“Then, how old are you now?”
“About a thousand,” He answered her
She fake gasped and said, “This is pedophile you know,” She teased him.
“That doesn’t work in the demon world, love.”
“But this is the human world,” Eloise argued back.
“You have a point but I don’t look over a thousand years old anyway so, who would suspect?” He joked.
“Why doesn’t your appearance change? I saw some memories from my first life and you look the same,” She asked as she touches his face.
“Our human appearance won’t change that much unless we make changes to it but our demon form does. In time, our horns and wings grow and more black ink would be painted on our body,” He said.
“Oh. So how old is your father, then?”
“No one knows. He never really told us before, said he doesn’t really like birthdays.”
“What about his horn, wings, and the black ink? Can’t you estimate how old he is with that?”
“It all stops when you reach a certain age. Someday there won’t be any part of our body that can be covered in ink and our wings and horn can’t be too big.”
Eloise nodded, understanding what Leon was telling her. The movie ended a while ago when she started asking questions so they chose another one.
Lunch came and coincidentally, their third movie stopped when Eloise’s tummy rumbled.
Leon laughed at her and started to detach himself from her.
“What do you want for lunch, love?”
“Hmm. How about lasagna? Do you know how to make that?” She challenged him.
“Of course, I do, love. Don’t underestimate me. I learned from the best,” He winked at her which made her laugh a little. “Do you want lots of cheese for that?”
“Yes, please.”
Leon started cooking their lunch while Eloise munched on the remaining popcorn. Leon didn’t eat much of it and Eloise wasn’t really the type who eats while watching a movie. Sometimes, she would be too focused to eat or she would be asking too many questions that she just forgot she made popcorn.
After Leon was done cooking, Eloise hurriedly went to the dining room to start making the table. As soon as she entered the kitchen, the delicious aroma of lasagna welcomed her as she watches Leon take the lasagna from the oven.
“Wow, I really underestimated you, huh?” She joked.
“You did, love, and here I am, proving you wrong,” Leon joked back.
They started eating while Leon was telling her stories.
“Have I ever met your parents before?” Eloise asked.
“Yes. First, second and third. After that, I just stopped introducing you to them since they already have the idea that I would just end up with you anyway.”
“Does arrange marriage exist in your world?”
“It does, especially since other demons don’t really feel anything so they can’t fall in love.”
Eloise gasped. “No way.”
“My cousin has arranged marriage but as years passed by, he actually felt love. It was the first-ever emotion that he felt and a good thing that his wife was in love with him too. They confessed their love for each other and since then, they were inseparable.”
Eloise felt her heart warm from his story.
“So, it’s not impossible for demons to fall in love.”
“Nope. And I am living proof of that.”
“Did your parents ever tried to do that to you?”
Leon thought for a few seconds before answering her. “They did try to plan for it when you died in your first life but when they saw me watching you grow up; they didn’t try it.”
Eloise let out a relieved sigh and Leon couldn’t help but laugh at that.
“What? I was kinda scared that your parents wouldn’t approve of me, you know. They could just take my life and forbid me to reincarnate. Lock me up in a place where you would never find me and then force you to marry someone else.”
Leon laughed, even more, when she said that. “Love, I really like this imagination of yours,” He said with an amused voice. “But I would never let that happen. No one can steal you away from me. No one can take you away to a place I don’t know because wherever you go, I would still find you.” He said with the most serious voice that Eloise heard in her whole life and it scared her for a bit.
A bit possessive demon huh?
