As soon as Sean plugged the phone back in, it started ringing again. He didn’t think he had the strength to get back on the arguing wheel with Arliss once more. Everything that could be said had already been said. They were at a standstill. But when he looked down at the Caller ID, he saw it was not Arliss at all. It was his mother.
