Last Day of Senior Year Pt. 1

611 Words
The way he acts when it's just me and him, you'd never know that he's one of the toughest and strongest alphas in the United States. My dad is Alpha Blake Duchannes of the Blood Moon Pack. He stands 6'7", he has huge muscles, and a voice so deep it'll make anyone stop in their tracks. He's a sweet man when it comes to his pack. He takes great care of everyone, and he even makes time to play with the pups of the pack. The whole pack adores him. He's super protective over the entire pack, too. He's a great leader who makes his pack feel safe and happy.      It has just been me and him in the main house since my mom passed away, with the exception of the maids, the cooks, and my dad's Beta, Sam Usselton. He lost his son and his wife in a fight with another pack 7 years ago. Rogues unexpectedly attacked the pack house in the middle of the night. My father and Sam were on a business trip in Europe visiting an old friend of my father's. They hadn't even been gone for 2 days when the rogues came into the pack house and murdered 4 women and 7 children in their sleep. After that, my father insisted on Sam moving in because he didn't want him to be alone while he grieved their deaths.      Sam has always been like an uncle to me. He's the more lenient between him and my father. Despite the tragic loss and heartache he feels for his family, he's actually really upbeat and cheerful. He treats me like I'm his daughter. He always brings me something to eat while I'm working, and he'll stay and talk to me while he browses for a new book. I'm not sure how he finds the time, but he manages to be there for me unconditionally between handling his responsibilities as a Beta and following my father's orders.      After I manage to scarf down my breakfast, I gasp at the time and I quickly hug my father and Sam and head out the door towards my car. It's a 15 minute drive to school, and I don't have to be there until 8. However, theres a case of new books being delivered to the store and I have to make sure I'm there so I can sign for the delivery. The store's owner, Max, is really sick and he lives above the store. But he isn't able to get out of bed so I take care of the store for him. He loves it when I read to him every Friday. I'm sure he's already picked out a book for me to read to him today.      I get to the store just in time, allow the delivery man to unload the case of books, and then I lock up and head to school. I've got plenty of time to get there, but I need a little more time to study for my last exam, just in case. I may have straight A's, but studying a bit more could only prepare me better. I pull up in the school parking lot, grab my backpack, and head to first period to study. After 10 minutes, the teacher walks in and announces to clear our desks of everything but a pencil and begins to pass out the test paper. After studying that extra ten minutes, I feel confident about passing the test. We have an hour to complete it and turn it in to the teacher before the class bell rings signaling it's time for second period.
