Ash let Burke drive away from the beach and down the curvy roads toward the more commercial part of town. He didn’t say anything, and Ash didn’t like the way the silence felt like it had a life of its own. He pulled into a seafood restaurant that served lobster and shrimp fritters with sugary glazes, as well as the best assortment of coffees and teas the island had to offer.
