Burke stared at the shop keys sitting next to Ash’s phone on his front table. Darkness had claimed the island at least an hour ago, and while she’d been staying up at her mother’s long past this time, surely she knew by now that he had her belongings. “Just take them back to her,” he muttered to himself.
