Sindbad in the War of Independence Sindbad was on a flying carpet, observing the spring campaign and the recapture of the Buda Castle from above. He had travelled enough by sea and spent enough of his long life on land. It was time to try his fortune as an air-traveler. He had a flying carpet and a talisman ring given him by an Arabian genie acquaintance. He heard first from this big spirit that a bird’s eye view of the world is totally different from an earthbound one, let alone as seen from the surface of the sea. The encounter was advantageous for the genie, too. Sindbad assuaged a little the lonely spirit’s soul. It had had more than one liaison with earthly women and each had deceived him nastily.
