"Mom I accept! " Mom looked at me in disbelief, sitting alone with me on the dinning table. "Wha....what?" She asked again not believing that she had heard right. "Mom I agree to marry her! " I stated as calmly as possible showing that whatever happened last night didn't mattered to me and I had a serious liking for Alisha. Only if she knew, that the way she insulted me last night had affected me in the worst way possible. It had hurt my ego, my self respect and even my image in the society. She slapped me in front of the whole high class society. And most importantly she did it without a reason. I want revenge! For whatever she did she had to pay for it, a high price. I looked at the newspaper lying on the table with the headline, 'something fishy going on? ' And below it was two pictures one of me kneeling down on the floor in front of Alisha and the other of her slapping me! It was same with all the other newspapers and magazines, with those two bloody pictures and below it was written whatever s**t one could think of! I threw away the paper and sat back on the chair. She she will pay for it, I will marry her and make her life a hell till she doesn't beg me to let her go, till her own prestige get screwed up like mine. I know after what she did last night, she won't agree to marry me anymore but for that I have my back up plan as well. I was so busy in my own thoughts that I didn't realized that mom was looking at me intently. "Are you sure? " She stated, "because if you are planning to do something evil to her to take revenge on her for what happened last night in the name of marriage. I am not going to let it happen! " Oh Hell! Mom knew me too well. "Mom really I don't have any intention of hurting her, I don't know what was the cause of the last night incident but it has nothing to do with me agreeing to the marriage. " I felt my throat going as dry as Sahara desert due to the lie I just told mom. It wasn't only a lie but each and every word I told her was a lie. *** Mom was looking so happy and then she smiled at me, a genuine and happy smile which I haven't seen since dad died. "Oh! Adi you made me so happy....." She sighed and took her phone, "I am going to tell about this to Maya, Alisha's mom. " As she stood up I called her back, "but I have a condition, it will be a simple court marriage and nothing more. " Lesser the media and paparazzi the more it is better. "What? No! " her eyebrows furrowed. "Adi you are my only child, I have so many dreams for your marriage, a marriage which will be remembered for years. It should be grand and lavish and besides we have to do rituals in Indian cultural. It can't be a court marriage, I will never agree to this! " "Then forget about it mom, that I ever decided to get married to Alisha. " "How could you do that Adi? " mom said bewildered. I looked at her and gave her a look that I am not going to move! "Okay! " she sighed "but only if Alisha's parents agree to this. " I nodded. Flashback over These memories are now haunting me for years. Whenever I think about her, I think if she is really alive or not. For almost six years I am searching for her. I and even her brother Surya have hired many private detectives but of no use. °•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•° Present time Kolkata, India Alisha's pov I increased my pace and tried to walk faster, the sky was getting dark with each passing second due to the never ending black clouds. It was going to rain soon. I looked at my watch, 9:45. Oh my God Joe would be so afraid being alone, I would have never come if she hadn't cried for Chinese for dinner and in the journey back my car stopped working and now it's gonna rain. Wow! Just wow! I cussed under my breath and walked faster because as till now it had already started raining. I almost ran in the middle of the road to find a shelter because there was no taxi or bus to be found. When I saw a newly wed couple walking down the almost empty and muddy street of North Kolkata and their expression told me that they were quite enjoying it. Weird I thought but then this is what happens when you are with your loved ones, I realised a sigh and sat down under the shade of the bus stand and remembered the kind of weird wedding I had. Flashback Six years ago Mumbai India Marine drive beach resort "Here miss...." The lawyer pointed towards a blank space near the end of the green file. I held the pen tightly wishing that some miracle would happen and I won't need to sign that anymore but nothing as such happened. My vision got blurred as I signed the papers with my tears. I controlled them as much as I could. No I won't cry, I won't! Everyone cheered as he did his signature. "Congratulations Mr. And Mrs. Singhania! " The lawyer stood up and stretched his hand for a shake. Aditya shook his hand whereas I was only able to mumble 'Thank you' And soon I was bombarded with a large number of greetings. All my cousins, my uncle and aunts Congratulated us one by one. And then his. I was drained out because of the days events. A small party was organized in the same marine drive beach resort owned by none other than my so called husband. I can't believe that after whatever I told to my parents about happenings in that inauguration party, they didn't believe me. They said that I was having a misconception. Could you believe that? What kind of parents say that to their children, defending a cheap womanizer. But I know they might be thinking that I am making some story and slapped him so that he himself refuses to marry me. But the way dad was acting was freaking me out, in the last five days he had not once talked with me I asked mom and she said that he is just angry at me but his acts were screaming out loud that something is wrong with him more than just anger. "Adi, I guess Alisha is all drained out so it will be better if you take her to your penthouse now. " his mom Kaveri said while giving me a sweet smile. "Mom but the guests-" Aditya protested. "I will take care of them you go" She stated"and besides there are only a few close relatives there is no need of formalities. " Aditya just nodded and as soon as Mrs. Singhania left he stood up leaving the chair empty beside me. And started to walk away but suddenly turned around, "I don't have all day for you miss, com'on didn't you heard mom?" And here started the new journey of my life what others would have seen but I only saw hell in front of me with this man beside me.
