CHAPTER 26

SAMAEL’S POINT OF VIEW ”You are going to do what?” Damien exclaimed on top of his lungs and the surrounding customers turned to glare at him for disturbing their peacefulness. “You might want to shut your mouth before that lady throws her drink at you.” I told him seriously after I saw the woman behind him clenching her plastic cup as his booming voice made her kid cry, who was silently sleeping on the stroller. However, Damien didn’t seem to mind, as his eyes were still fixated on me. All of theirs, actually. ”How do you expect me to be quiet after hearing such an obnoxious idea?” Obnoxious? Does he have to be so dramatic? I was actually proud of my idea since it will solve all our problems. I can literally extract informations from her that Leviathan wants in the pretense of love and who knows I may even be able to use her against her own father and bring him down. More importantly, I can settle my confusions once she is under my radar. The effect she had on me was troubling me too much and if I didn’t find a way to block it soon, all my plans could backfire. ”I agree with Dam, Samael. Dating her is so different from befriending her. It’s dangerous and might cause more harm than good. And what about your parents? Your mother would kill you if she even finds out you thought of having a relationship with an Angel. Do you think your father would allow it? It will be a huge blow to his ego.” Asmodeus had fear in his eyes and I wondered when my friends became such cowards. All of them were so against her in the beginning and now, were they scared? ”If he was that concerned, then he shouldn’t have brought her here at all. And I will not be actually dating her, it’s just acting. Leviathan, what do you think about it? You want her to be close to us, right? And how can she be more close than being my girlfriend.” Saying the word girlfriend ignited something in my stomach and I took in a deep breath to cool it down. This is what I am talking about. Why does she make me feel so different? I hate to be like this. “Alright, let’s do it.” That was a surprise. I thought Leviathan would be against my opinion too, as I imagined him to have something for Kiara. I expected him to come up with an excuse that explains why I should not move on with the plan, but his sudden optimism was making me suspicious. “Really? Why?” Levi shrugged his shoulders and smirked at me. I knew it! He had something on his mind because there was no way he would accept it wholeheartedly. “Why not? All I wanted from her is information about my past and I don’t care how I get it. But, aren’t you forgetting something, Sam?” I raised my eyebrow at him and waited for him to enlighten me. He chuckled and looked at me as if I was a fool. ”You seriously think she would become your girlfriend?” *************** KIARA’S POINT OF VIEW ”Kia, wake up. We will not finish everything by evening if you sleep like this. Come on horsey, get up, get up, get up.” Keres was jumping on my bed and I could see Asher imitating her, but thankfully not on the bed. She ripped the blanket off my body and the cool breeze from the windows and open door covered me in goosebumps. Bright sunlight blinded me and I could only see a part of the demon ruining my neat covers. I never expected Keres to be a morning person at all. “Its just 06:00 AM, Ker. I haven’t slept properly for the last week and my body needs rest if I have to go through that hell hole for another six days.” However, the crazy girl wasn’t buying anything and just continued to disturb me until I got up from the heavenly mattress that kept calling me back and entered the washroom. ”We had a very quick breakfast, which included me having some salad and her some cereals with milk. I have yet not tried most of the foods from the underworld as the major portion of it had meat in it. A vegetarian like me had limited options, and I stuck onto some snacks and different beverages.” After our morning routines, we vacated everything from Kiara’s bedroom and dumped it in the hall. We had bought some wallpapers according to her liking and pasted it all over the beige walls. The black and light coloured theme suited the room a lot, and I never knew few stickers could make such a drastic transformation to a room. “I am going to kill you. Ahhh!!!” Keres took a hammer from the tool box and she ran after me, pretending to be a serial killer. Asher too played with us and he definitely enjoyed the physical exercises as he kept making happy noises. We had to set up her bed manually, and I felt like a strong woman while handling the large tools. My brothers never allowed me to use them, as they insisted that it was too dangerous and heavy for my delicate hands. Only if they could see how well it suited my long fingers. I smiled at the minor scratches on my palms with pride after fixing the bed. The wardrobe and vanity table followed, along with the small study table and a medium sized wall fixing book case. The wardrobe was semi assembled, and all we had to do was drill in some nails. “I have never been so happy lately, Kiara. My mother never allows me to decorate my room the way I want as she fills everything with extravagant items. She says it’s classy, but I call is trash. I feel suffocated just seeing that king sized bed, but I slept like a baby on this couch last night. I feel more at home here, thanks to you.” I laughed and passed her the sandwich that I made for her. We were now taking some free time after working straight for three hours, but enjoyed every part of it. “My room back at home was cozy enough, but my brothers won’t allow me to do anything. They are so protective and although I love them so much, it can get stifling often.” Ker chuckled and munched on her bread. “My problem is that my family doesn’t give a f**k about me and your problem is that they care for you too much. How contrasting yet similar?” I couldn’t agree less. Our joyful conversation was cut short by the ring of my doorbell and I looked at Keres in confusion. Who might that be? I peeked through the nearest window and saw Azazel waving at me with three card boxes next to him on the step. I gulped down the nervousness as I intended to show him Asher today and before I knew it; the time has come. I opened the door and smiled at him stiffly. I had to comply with whatever decision he made and I have been giving strength to both me and Keres for accepting it without a fight. But I wouldn’t let them use my boy for any dangerous activities. “Hey, Principal. It’s so awkward to see you outside that school and with that goofy smile. It’s creeping me out a little.” Keres walked out of the kitchen, the sandwich still on her hand, and grinned at Azazel to divert his attention from my tensed posture. Ever the life saver. “Its nice t meet you too, Miss Keres. But not a word to the others, alright?” He said, placing the cardboards one by one into the hall and I helped him with it. Kiara scoffed and crossed her arms over her chest. ”As if I will talk to those b*****s again.” Azazel didn’t comment on her vulgar language, and just shook his head with a sly smile. He must be used to hearing curse words by his students. He began opening the carton boxes one by one and my eyes lit up on seeing the vegetables and fruits from our garden. There was even a bottle of milk and butter and a packet of bread. God, I love my father. The second one had some flower vases and mural paintings. “I thought it would go well with your decorations.” Keres accepted it with a gleaming smile and we both thanked him for his thoughtful gift. The last box was a heavy one, and I soon realized why, as I saw the large chandelier pieces that filled the space. “That looks expensive.” Keres commented my exact thought, and we both stared at him for an explanation. Azazel just shook his hand as if it was nothing and took the glasses out. “I noticed that you haven’t used the card I gave you yet. So I wanted to show you that I wouldn’t go bankrupt if you spent a few bills. This light costs double your bank balance.” My eyes widened and so does Keres’. Seems like he is so close to my father. We helped Azazel put up the chandelier and, despite the sunlight, it glowed and sparkled. “My job is done. I will take leave now, ladies.” Azazel said, finishing the cup of tea I gave him. I might have imagined it, but I think I saw his eyes becoming glassy while drinking the hot beverage. Was it too hot? I hope I didn’t mix salt instead of sugar. Just as he was leaving, I requested him to wait, and Keres came to stand behind me. It’s now or never. “We need to show you someone.” I didn’t dare look at his face and just whistled loudly. I have sent him to my room, waiting for the right moment and now that he got the signal, Ashy trotted down the stairs like an elegant unicorn and I felt Azazel going still beside me. Both me and Keres waited for him to say something, but the grown up man just inserted his hands in his pocket and stared at Asher with a smirk. “Does he get enough sunlight?” Was that it? Isn’t he even going to ask where I got it from? “Are you going to hand it to the authority?” Keres asked, as I was too shocked to form words. This was not the reaction I expected and even his energy didn’t waver a bit. ”Why should I? It’s your pet.” Behind me, Keres fist bumped the air and squealed with joy. I almost hugged him on hearing that and looked at him with the largest smile on my face. “Thank you so much, sir. And no, I haven’t brought him outside. I was afraid if someone would recognize him.” “Hmmm….” Azazel hummed and walked towards the store room, stopping a minute to pet Asher, who shyly moved back, and opened the door before entering. He moved the metal shelf that held cleaning items and revealed another door on the wall. ”Want to go to the basement?” ………………………………..
