CHAPTER 8

KIARA’S POINT OF VIEW The smell of hot blood pierced through my nostrils, and bile rose in my throat. I threw up without holding back and my knees felt weak, causing me to topple onto the warm ground. The sandals that Adam gifted me were completely ruined, and I sobbed silently. I anticipated rude remarks and dirty looks, but never in a thousand scenarios did I imagine such a horrible prank. I could hear evil laughter all around me, but didn’t have the guts to look at them. They were obviously enjoying my miserable state, and there was no one to help me get up. My father and brothers would be devastated if they see me in such a condition. After all, I was their precious little girl. “Well done, Keres. You definitely know how to throw a party.” Through my now tangled red hair, I could see the silhouette of a girl; towering over my quivering body. Although she looked intimidating, the energy radiating from her was pretty weak, and right then I knew that the master brain behind this drastic behavior was not hers. She was just a cover for someone else. This girl does not have that much negativity inside her. Who would be the real perpetrator? “What do you think you are doing?” The voice sent a chill down my spine and despite the situation I am in; I was curious to see the owner of those words. Unlike the girl’s energy, I felt something strong approaching my direction, and it was certainly not positive. Somehow, I could compare this aura with Lilith’s, and my eyes widened in realization. Samael! Of course, only he would have the audacity to do such a thing. ................. SAMAEL’S POINT OF VIEW. Leviathan’s idea gave me a new sense of hope and I knew the perfect way to scar her memories forever. I asked Asmodeus for his help since Keres was the only girl whom I could think of as the right person. Although he hesitated at first, after our consistent pressure, he agreed to do it. Keres accepted the mission immediately, no surprise in there. That girl would do anything to be popular, and I knew that she secretly liked Damien and was using Asmodeus as a reason to be with him. I tried to warn my dumb friend several times, but he wouldn’t listen. It’s like as if that girl had a key to his heart. We used my pet’s blood, which was more powerful than normal human’s and the smell would take several days to leave the body. I want to see her going mad with frustration and hopelessness. However, I will never be the bad guy. We have planned it in such a way that Keres was the main villain and I would be her saviour. I saw that everything was going according to our plan when the b***h threw up and emptied all the contents of her stomach. I smirked at my friends and they had similar smug expression on their faces as well. For the first time I find school interesting. Maybe I should keep her around for a few days and play her till my heart’s content. On hearing me speaking, she slightly raised her head, but the long tangled, greasy hair was acting as a curtain and denied me any further view of her horrified face. Oh, how much I would love to see fear in those innocent eyes. “I am just welcoming our new colleague.” I grind my teeth on seeing how dramatic Keres was and the way she looked so proud, as if she was actually the one who did it. Pathetic. If it wasn’t for Asmodeus, she wouldn’t have been this popular and feared by everyone. “In this way? I wonder what your father will have to say when the Principal informs him of his daughter’s kindness.” Damien was the one who said that, and I saw adoration filling Keres’ eyes. Is Asmodeus a fool or is he turning a blind eye towards these obvious signs? She smiled flirtatiously and mumbled out a sorry before swaying her exaggerated hips and blending with the crowd. “What are you looking at? Go back to your classes before the teachers come.” Asmodeus shouted to the students and, like the good kittens they were, they scurried back into the building, some of them turning back to see if anything was happening. “Are you okay?” I bent one knee and matched her face level, but she was staring down and it irritated me like hell. Look at me, b***h. I am talking to you. “I need to use the washroom.” Her voice was feeble, and it brought a wave of happiness to my awaiting heart. She was scared. Her body is trembling and the way she was clenching her dress with her hands made it so obvious. We just started, and she is already surrendering? I extended my arm to grab her shoulder but was stopped by the man whom I hate most in the underworld. Our principal. “I am sure you had your share of fun. Now leave her alone.” His words were final inside the institution, and we had no other choice but to comply. Father and he shared some unusual bond and because of that, it was me and my mother who suffered. One day, I will overpower him. “We were just helping, father. You don’t have to be so mean.” Leviathan said, coming forward with a grim face. He always hated his father for killing his mom and their relationship was strained ever since. Leviathan joined our group because his father asked him to stay away from us and I don’t blame him for that. I would have done the same too. Azazel, our principal, just stared at his son with no emotion and crouched down to lift the b***h’s thin arms and helped her get steady on her feet. I couldn’t still see her face as she was facing Azazel, and I controlled the urge to spin her round and cut those long strands. It was really driving me nuts. “So, you do know how to be caring?” There was disgust in Leviathan’s voice, but he was again met with silence. Azazel wasn’t cold towards his son, but just emotionless. One can’t expect pure relationship in hell, anyway. But what wrong did Leviathan and his mother do? “Get back to your classes or I will ask the teachers to mark absent in your records.” Saying that, he turned and walked out of the school with the limping w***e. “Seems like he still misses heaven.” Damien scoffed and patted Leviathan’s back roughly, as if to make him snap out of his frustration. Azazel might have saved her for now, but he can’t be with her always. ******************** KIARA’S POINT OF VIEW My body hasn’t stopped shivering even after driving past the school and the worst thing was I couldn’t even blame anyone for it. They were bound to react this way, and it was I who underestimated them. “I know there is no point in asking if you are okay. I have arranged your accommodation and I will help you settle in. Is there anything else you need.” I shook my head, unable to form words. The ride was short, barely seven minutes, and we parked in front of a small structure. It did not look big enough to be a research center, but right now that was the least of my concerns. I need to get this sticky substance out of my body. I wonder if even the Sacred River could purify me from the rotten soul’s blood. The crime rate committed by the owner of the blood was really high, as the stench overpowered all my senses. The two-storeyed house looked freshly painted and there was a small yard in the front with plants and flowers that I was unfamiliar with. It looked better than I imagined, and I smiled through my tears. At least I could be alone and at peace here. “The research centre is under the ground but the door to it is sealed and the exit of the chamber is also closed down, so you don’t have to worry about it.” He gestured at me to proceed and I slowly made my way to the building, doubting if I will ever call it a home? ................
