SAMAEL’S POINT OF VIEW
I parked my car outside her house at exactly six and got out, but never stepped inside the lawn. It felt inappropriate to get enter the building where only a girl lived and I wonder when I transformed into such a decent demon. But then I visited none of my dates’ houses as I was uncomfortable around their curious family and tried to avoid any interaction with them.
I heard the door open, and suddenly my pulse began to thump wildly. Am not I over dressed? She would probably be in jeans and top and here I am, looking as if I have a wedding to attend. Maybe dressing up was a bad idea. I shouldn’t have listened to Ana.
I leaned on the car that only reached till my back and crossed my hands over my chest, struggling to look as casual as I could. There was no going back and I am not planning to turn into a coward just because of a mere angel. However, my breath stopped when I saw someone coming out and then it instantly turned into a grimace on seeing Keres. She, too, looked liked she was not at all pleased to see me and I just rolled my eyes. I swear this woman never leaves this place. Did she turn down Asmodeus again?
“I never knew your hair could be tamed. It must have taken some effort.”
I decided not to acknowledge her sarcasm and remained silent, but never left my eyes from hers’.
“Anyway, I am here to warn you.”
I scoffed, a scorn forming on my lips. As if she has any potential to warn me. All she needs is a glare from me and Keres would hide behind Kiara like a puppy.
“Laugh all you want, Samael. But treat her wrong and I swear I will make you pay. You know who my mother’s boyfriend is.”
My smile faltered when she mentioned that b******s name. He is a part of the most dangerous gang in hell, and my father hates their guts. They treat women like slaves and create havoc in the human dimension. However, no one would dare touch them as their connections extent all over the mortal world and it might affect the daily lives. In fact, there is even a rumor that the gang is led by humans, but there was no proof and honestly, it sounded so unreal. How can a mere earthling control powerful demons? Just pure stupidity.
“Lets get the facts straight. You are not her family, so don’t try to act like one. If I am dangerous to Kiara, then so are you.”
Why did she have to ruin my mood? Can’t Asmodeus do one thing correctly? Is it that hard to get his ‘beloved’ out of the picture for once?
“Maybe. But unlike you, I won’t betray her in the end.”
Okay, that was a low blow and one that struck me hard. I am betraying Kiara. No matter how hard I try to convince myself that it is for the good of my people, the thought was weighing down on me. This b***h really had to hit on top of that and push me further into the depth of guilt.
Knowing that she had me by my neck, Keres smirked and moved closer to me.
“Don’t think she doesn’t know.”
With that, she turned and went back to the house, leaving me furious. Why the hell did I keep quiet? I should have called her something. I should have at least told her how much of a s**t she was. And what does she mean by Kiara knows? Can’t that b***h not talk in puzzles? F**k, this is so frustrating.
My endless thoughts came to a halt as I saw the main door opening again and this time a silver heel was the first thing to come out. My eyes widened as the owner of that footwear emerged. What the…

KIARA’S POINT OF VIEW
Keres stormed inside the hall with a straight face, and I knew that the friendly conversation wasn’t friendly at all. She insisted that a man from the girl’s family would always give the guy ‘the talk’ and since my family was in another realm, she took the authority.
“Did you take your arrows?”
Keres asked, eyeing my satchel. I nodded my head, feeling strangled by this dress. It was her selection, of course. Ker was adamant that I wear something designer, as she wanted Samael to know that I could play the game too. When he asked me to dress pretty, he sure didn’t expect me to follow it and seeing me all dressed up will definitely give him the wrong idea.
I liked the idea when it was still up for discussion, but when my best friend literally brought a dress that was more suitable for extravagant functions, terror gripped my mind.
I have never seen something so pretty before and I almost swooned at the black body con dress that had full lace sleeves and wide boat neck. It reached just above my knees and the hem was perfectly stitched with lace as well. The inside was made of satin and as I donned the beauty; it felt like I was wrapped in a bunch of smooth feathers.
Keres lent me a pair of dangling diamond earrings and it sparkled when it was exposed to light. She left my neck bare as she wanted my collar bone to be accentuated. Half of her words were foreign to me, so I just sat like a statue, giving her all access to my body.
When it came to my hair, she tied it in a beautiful braid and even trimmed some of my strands so that it fell down in bangs. She called it the Elsa braid and said that I looked like a Disney princess. God knows who that princess is. All I hope is that she doesn’t mind me borrowing her hairstyle.
Ker jumped, clapping her hand once she was done, and even took my photos with her mobile phone. Truth be told, I couldn’t even recognize myself and I stared at the dashing woman looking back at me. If my brothers see me like this, they would lock me in my room till I change. The black dress and my white hair contrasted, but matched perfectly, like a vintage painting.
The final part was the shoes, but I couldn’t wear a heel for the love of God. Finally, she chose a silver half shoe with kitten heels and I just want this night to end without me tripping and spraining my ankle.
I sighed before smiling at her and opened the door to leave, but was stopped by Kiara. I turned back with my one foot out and saw her extending a cellular device to me, and I accepted it doubtfully.
“I know you hate it, but please, take this for today. Call me if something happens. You know how to do it, right?”
I would have returned it if it hadn’t been for her concerned eyes.
“Yes, mother.”
I joked, despite my nervousness, and breathed in a lungful of air before heading out.
My eyes widened as I saw a handsome man in place of Samael. He looked like a grown up and I can’t deny how attractive he was. His aura was again strange, but it didn’t feel dangerous, instead it was making me hot. So I just walked towards him in slow steps, afraid that I would fall and embarrass myself.
Samael’s eyes never left my body, and I pondered if he would think of me as an easy girl. Well, I want him to think that he has me where he wants, but it was still awkward. I stood in front of him, leaving enough space between us, and realized that with the heels we were the same height. I could directly stare at his pitch black orbs that were piercing my blue ones with a peculiar intensity.
Despite the soft material, I felt the temperature increase several degrees, and I didn’t even know if it was the climate or my hormones.
“You look… Wow….”
Samael did not complete his sentence, and I was glad that he stopped. I was too thorny to compliments, especially when I have received none for my looks but only for my studies.
“You have cleaned up pretty well, too. Shall we go then?”
I jumped inside the monstrous vehicle before he said something else and fixed my eyes on the road, even though he was still leaning on the hood of the car. It took him a few seconds to move from his spot, and I braced myself as he took the driver’s seat.
“Snap out of it, f****r. You are being ridiculous.”
Although it was barely a whisper, I heard it clearly and turned to him in confusion.
“Did you say something?”
I asked, not knowing what I did wrong. Did he not like the dress? Did our plan backfire?
Samael did not meet my eyes as he replied, but just concentrated on turning on the engine.
“It wasn’t for you.”
He breathed out and began driving without even glancing at me.
