I spent the past week preparing for my mission. It was basically a crash course on etiquette and negotiation. I definitely failed that course, which is why they decided to send Zander with me. He is the master at negotiating. I didn’t like the idea at first, since things are still awkward between us, we have barely talked at all about the kiss, or anything at all really. The week was packed with lessons, and my aunt checking up on me to make sure I was okay.
“Are you ready yet?” I heard Zander call from behind my bedroom door. I opened it carrying my luggage, a backpack filled with enough clothes, makeup, and toiletries for a month. We were only supposed to be gone for a week at most, but I liked to be prepared. Zander looked towards me as if I was crazy.
