ARIANA The guard didn’t wait. He grabbed my arm roughly and pulled me out of the room. “Walk faster,” he barked, not even looking at me. My legs felt weak, but I forced myself to move. I could still feel Juliana’s grip on my wrist, even though she wasn’t beside me anymore. Her words repeated in my head like a broken song: “Whatever they do, don’t tell them anything.” The hallway was colder than before, or maybe it was just fear making me feel that way. I tried to count my steps, tried to breathe slowly, but my chest felt tight. I wanted to ask where we were going, but I was too scared to open my mouth.
