EPISODE 6:THE CLASS PROJECT

504 Words
Lila adjusted her backpack and stepped into the classroom, mentally reviewing the instructions for the group project. She had prepared carefully and wanted everything to go smoothly. When she saw Kaden sitting near the middle row, notebook open and headphones around his neck, she realized this was going to be… interesting. “Looks like we’re partners,” she said, placing her notebook on the desk. Kaden glanced up briefly, dark eyes meeting hers with a faint smirk. “Seems like it,” he replied casually, returning to his notebook. Lila tried to focus on the task, laying out the assignment sheets. “So, we need to organize our research into sections. I think it’ll be easier if we divide the parts,” she said, gesturing toward the outline. He tilted his head, a small teasing glint in his eyes. “And I suppose you’ll tell me exactly what to do?” “Yes,” she said firmly, a little flustered, “I think it’ll save us time.” Instead of rolling his eyes or ignoring her, Kaden leaned back slightly and smiled faintly. “Efficient… I like that. Makes me think you’re bossy,” he said, voice teasing, not arrogant, just flirty enough to make her pause. Lila blinked, her cheeks warming slightly. Okay… so he’s flirty when I try to guide him. She tried to push the thought aside and focus on the project. As they worked, she assigned him sections of the research, trying to keep the discussion on track. Every time she corrected a detail or suggested a method, Kaden responded with small, flirty remarks, leaning casually in his chair or giving her a sideways look that made her pulse quicken. “You really think that’s the best approach?” he asked, voice low, eyebrow slightly raised. “I’m starting to wonder if you just like telling me what to do.” Lila frowned, trying to hide her reaction. “I’m trying to make this easier for both of us,” she replied firmly. He smirked again. “Effortless teamwork, huh? I like it when you take charge.” Her mind raced. He’s… flirty? Just because I’m trying to keep him on track? The realization made her heart beat a little faster, though she kept her composure. By the end of the session, the project was well-organized, and Lila noticed that Kaden’s flirty teasing had become part of their rhythm. It wasn’t overbearing or inappropriate—just enough to make her aware that beneath his calm exterior, he enjoyed the challenge she presented. Packing her bag, she noted how natural he seemed with her, teasing lightly while still being attentive to the project. It was the first time she realized he wasn’t quiet or indifferent; he was a flirty, confident type who responded playfully when engaged. As they left the classroom, Kaden gave her a small, measured smile. “Not bad,” he said lightly, “you might just make a good partner after all.” Lila exhaled, adjusting her bag.
