Samson crouched low, took a deep calming breath, and lunged forward. His firing combat crouch lunge onto the platform brought him so close to the advancing point man on Samson's side that if Samson had been standing when the man pulled the trigger, Samson would have been cut in half. Instead the assailant's reflex action on the trigger, clamped open on auto, caused the recoil to pull his weapon up and away from the intended target. Samson's rounds passed up and through the point man's midsection and out the back of his chest. They lifted the man and his weapon's muzzle ever higher as the assailant fell backward and the weapon's recoil, in the now lifeless arm, carried it even higher until the weapon's magazine emptied.
