Serena’s POV
“Of course Samantha isn’t alive.” Elena stood, smoothing down her skirt. Her look of terror was quickly smoothed over by a mask of calm indifference. “Didn’t you bury her body recently? Why would you think she’s alive?”
Kade’s brow furrowed. “Some things that seem impossible are possible in our world,” he said quietly, watching Elena for her reaction.
“Including a dead woman coming back to life?” Elena stared at Kade calmly, almost in a judging way. After a moment, his face fell, and he stared at the floor with a mixture of confusion and resignation.
Serena, however, was in complete shock. Elena had just implied that Samantha could still be alive. Serena had seen the fear in Elena’s eyes when she’d realized what she had said. Was it possible…? Elena already knew the truth
