Before the wedding

1106 Words
The two days was already due. Eva and I hurried out to catch our appointment with Cleph; the designer. Meanwhile Emelia was also arriving the next day to attend my wedding. We spent no spare time at the designer's office. Eva also got to choose a dress for her role as my brides maid. Emelia was the only one left to choose a dress. ######## Eva and I waited at the parking Lott of the mini airport. We waited patiently upon the arrival of our sister. "Oh there she come" I noticed I excitement. Emelia walked towards us with the wheels from grinding the floor rhythmically. She practically didn't see us and we watched her eyes round in search of us. Eva waived at her direction screaming" hi girl .... over here". We all hugged tightly laughing out the excitement of our reunion. "What has been going ...... girl somebody's gotta gist me" Emelia quested curiously. Eva mocked curious Emelia "the big ear has returned to her dynasty ". We giggled. Emelia puresed her lips and returned the tease"Of course my kingdom awaits my returned". Breaking into a hard laugh we all matched to the car and journeyed back home. " oh less we forget, you've got serious catching ups to do" I chorused. ######## Eva and Emelia seated in the couch. I stood by the kitchen counter with a satisfying smile, i watched the two girls rumbling their mouth in their gossip mood adventure. I thought silently "Indeed, the big ear does have a lot of catching ups to do". "Wait a minute ..... Am I not missing out on something? I still haven't seen our designs yet. May I catch a glimpse our designs " Emelia mentioned. Eva suggested " well.... why don't we all move upstairs and check them out ". " Mmmh... Sound perfect " Emelia mourned. " Sure! " We agreed. We went into the unlocked bedroom upstairs where two designed boxes rested on the ground. "Girls give me a hand please" I sort. Hence, Eva and Emelia helped lift the boxes. Gently, we opened the boxes. Each containing princess designed gowns. Emelia's eyes popped in surprise at the sight of the gowns. " Wow "she admired the gowns with her mouth opened. " Girl ..... I'm in shook right now. I bet you gonna be the most beautiful bride ever on that day. Oh I just can't wait to see you adorned in it " she continued the admiration. " I just feel like throwing myself in it seriously" she laughed faking a faint. "Yo! We need to check on the boys too" Eva prompted diverting our attention to her. " oh yeah" we all consented. "Let me do the calling" I pronounced and gasped in some air. Phone rang continuously and three beeps followed. "Oh oh!" I emitted. "Where the hell has these boys vanished to" I asked rhetorically while i stared at the girls with my eyebrows raised. "Girl, keep calling ..... they might probably be busy or even chilling" Emelia suggested in a teasing tone. "Girl, stop thinking out of the box and try again. So what if they're chilling" Eva complained. " please call again" She demanded. I patiently waited on my caller to pick up but the three beeps sounded and again no answer. "Please leave the guys to their business" Emelia shouted with gig "OK fine , but we should l be there to at least check on him" I worried. "Fine we will but could you calm down !" Eva reacted annoyed. The girls and I continued our conversation while a call came through. "Its for you"I glanced at the phone and for a second nothing run through my mind. "Hello.....who is this?"I questioned nervously in wonder. "Sorry to disturb you Khloe. It is me Josh , I'm calling sake of your husband to be." He responded with a terrified voiced, signed and paused. "Is...I..s Mike okay"I stammered and stared into the girl's face. "Actually that is why l called" Josh's tone frightened me and all I could do was worry about Mike. "Mike has fever. His body is burning and he has refused to visit the hospital nor see a doctor and its making us worried. Maybe you're the only one who can convince him to do so. Maybe you can come over" before he ended the call I was already set to go. "Hey you!" Eva shouted not very loud but clear enough for the wall clock to hear. "To Mike's place " the door banged echoing my voice to their ears. Emelia intersected my path as stretched my left hand to open my car " And where do think you're driving to I such a hurry. " she held on to her waist and stretched forth her hands "hand over the keys". My hands hanged in the air as I dropped the keys in her palm. ############# It was almost 5pm when we arrived at Mike's front gate. I had tried calling his line but to no avail. "Why does the place seem quiet?" Emelia asked , alarmingly looking round the house I could read the nervousness in her eyes. I , on the other hand rushed into the house to check for myself the rational behind the full silence mode. Running in the house, the only sound I could ever hear was that of the clinging noise produced by my block heels. "Mike!" "Mike!" "Mike where are you!" No answer. I rushed upstairs but I saw not a single sigh of a living soul. It was then that I realised that the house was in half darkness. A feel of fright shot through my heart. I could hear my heart beat echo in my ears. It was the kind of fear that compels the hair on your body to rise. I had goose bumps all over me. "Where is everyone?" I paused and asked rhetorically. Climbing down the stairs I a slow pace I heard a certain noise the kitchen like footsteps. It was moving toward the balcony. I quietly followed the footsteps carefully. I was able to grab a baseball's batt with help of the reflecting light from my phone. Saliva in my mouth slowly washed my throat as I gnahed my teeth as saliva in my mouth slowly glides down my throat. The footsteps halted. Opportunity smiled at me and I caught a glimpse of the shadow of the moving steps. I wasn't so sure but i assumed. Raising the batt, I was ready to blow the head of whatever shadow hovering around the area. "I just hope this is not the end of my life. " My mini mind thought, for a moment I felt pitty for my own little heart.
