“Is she settled in?” Daniel asked, turning to face his assistant.
“Yes, she is, sir,” Chris, his assistant, responded.
“And has she spoken to anyone?” Daniel asked.
“Well, from the tapping device in her phone, it seemed the first person she called was her daughter, but the conversation between them didn't go very well. They seemed to have an argument over the phone, and her daughter threatened to send her back to jail,” Chris explained, and Daniel couldn't help but chuckle.
“That brat sure has a lot of audacity, seeing how she's still accusing her mother of a crime she committed,” he muttered, unsure if he was proud of her or if the situation annoyed him.
