Michael walked into Georgia's room, holding with him a small bag filled with clothes and other things that he had guessed that Georgia might need. He was supposed to have come back a few hours earlier, but after the shocking encounter he had with his father earlier, it had taken him a while to get himself together.
He also had to make sure his face was a lot less swollen so that Georgia wouldn't notice and ask him any questions about it.
When he walked in, he noticed that she was lying in bed with her eyes closed, like she was still asleep. The nurse had informed him earlier that she had woken up and asked for him, so he thought he would find her awake.
