Major’s POV
I forgot to take her contact number before she left. That was the most important way to keep in touch with her and also know when she would begin working on the motorcycles.
I wouldn't have minded if she weren't a mechanic and wanted to repair it herself. But there was this pull I felt towards her, one I didn't know was in me all along that I claimed I felt nothing for a woman anymore. She was one kind I hadn't ever seen, maybe because I already knew her a long time and didn't expect that she could also beat up a man and not stand and watch them misbehave before her.
If she were a man and was an Enforcer in the club, a lot of things would be coded because she would create new manners in the patched members.
But surprisingly, her work materials were all scattered outside when I showed up. Several engines, tools, both light and heavy ones, and at the side was her dad, the man I'd known for years, watching with his deadly expression. Two men were still busy bringing out a lot of her work materials outside the workshop, and the sound of my motorcycle made her turn around to see who it was.
I waved my hand at her once I stopped the bike and got off my helmet. Her lips widened when she saw it was me, and she began coming closer to where I was, even though I alighted from the bike.
“Are you here for work?” she asked, looking stunned by my presence.
I shook my head, “I forgot to take your contact, so that's what I came for before I start the day with my tight schedule.” I said, giving my cell phone to her. “Are you parking out of here? But it looks good for your work.”
She sighed and gave back the phone after typing in her contact number. “My dad's kicking me out, so I'm going to rent somewhere else this morning and transfer my work materials. Do you know any place? I need somewhere so spacious like this.”
Her dad was kicking her out? For what? It couldn't be because she broke up with Alden, or that would be one of the stupidest reasons I ever knew. It didn't look good if she rented a place, because the workshops are a bit costly, and for someone like her who was still starting her life, she needed enough time to save up.
Now, would she use her savings to rent the shop?
“I have one, but it's owned by us.” I had to open up first, so if she was the type that doesn't want to have anything to do with the bikers, she would reject my offer right away.
She rolled her eyes. “Fine! It doesn't matter who owns it, provided it's situated in a good position that would get me customers daily and also accommodate all these and people's motorcycles.” She gestured and licked her lips. “So how much is the rent or lease?”
I chuckled. Rent or lease?
“Well, that shouldn't be a problem. We should focus on transferring all these first, then we discuss that part later. Sure, we will agree on what you can pay, and it wouldn't be too much for you." I told her and didn't even realise when I tapped my index finger on her cheek.
Her face beamed with a smile, and she nodded. “I will hire a truck immediately.”
“No need! I will call my men to come forth with ours.” I opposed it, and she nodded.
She walked back towards her properties while the men shut the door since they had gotten everything out. “Wait, I have to check if there's anyone you forgot to get out. Everything must follow me as I'm leaving.”
“Haven?!” her dad called out, but she ignored him and moved towards the workshop. She opened it and got into it herself, then walked out with nothing in her hands, but a smile across her face like she'd won a trophy. “I'm locking up the door.”
She nodded, “Go ahead!”
But her dad didn't understand what was going on. Even I was perplexed, because I wondered what he expected from a child he was kicking out.
I really needed to know what transpired between them. I know he never liked her, or the child wouldn't have grown up with her uncle when her dad was alive and financially stable.
“Prez?” My VP picked up the call immediately. I said to him, “Have about five prospects begin arranging Kaden's workshop. It's too urgent, and I need it to be set before I arrive. Then five more patched members should come to the address I would be sending with one of the trucks right now.”
He exhaled from the other end, “I hope everything is okay?”
“Very okay.” Then I hung up.
As I shifted my attention to the lady and her dad, they happened to be arguing, and I didn't anticipate that.
“If you apologise to Eve and make up with Alden, then I will let you continue staying here,” her dad said boldly, like what he said really made sense.
But Haven shook her head, "I'm sorry, but that is the last thing I would do. Since Eve likes him too, she can continue from where I stopped, and I don't give a damn. I'm going to rent somewhere else, so don't worry so much about me,” she retorted, and I could feel the fury in the air.
Her dad locked up the workshop and threw the key into his pocket. “Once you leave, don't ever return to me. If you do, I'll ignore you,” he snapped and began walking away from the doorpost. “I just regret taking you in years ago. It's a total waste of time. Do you know how much I could have made from this workshop if I rented it to a stranger? What is it I had gotten from you as a child? Instead, you go around damaging things and people around me.”
My blood was already boiling in anger as if all those were being targeted at me.
“Be fast about leaving so I can shut the gate too,” he added in a loud voice before getting into a phone call.
I pressed my lips together, so I wouldn't say a thing.
This was a family matter, and although I knew them from the start, the matter shouldn't bother me that much. If it didn't have to do with Haven, I wouldn't even care.
But thankfully, she showed up at the club, and we came to know each other. Alden was a motherfucker and didn't deserve Haven, so she making up with him was one thing I would make sure didn't happen.
