Chapter 12

Major’s POV In my office, I was with my VP, checking out the road maps for our next riding trip, when one of the prospects came in, wearing a frown. He announced that my brother was at Haven's workshop right away, and it looked like he came with several men too. I put everything on hold and left, hopped onto my motorcycle, and zoomed off to the workshop that's not too far from the club base. When I arrived there, indeed, Alden was dragging Haven to his car as though she weighed nothing and he had the right to do with her what she wanted. “Get your hands off her!” I yelled at Alden, but he only smirked at me, and the men he came with finally alighted from the car. “You heard me well, bro. Get your stinky hand off her.” “As her what? Guard? She's my girl, so… “I'm not your girl!!” Haven shrieked at him that moment and stomped his feet that he winced, yet didn't let go of her. “Leave me!!” Seriously, I didn't like laying my hands on people, talking about my brother. We had never been on good terms, but I didn't want to do this. I stomped my right fist to the other, my gaze burning directly at him. “If you make me say this the third time, you wouldn't like it.” “What will you do? Kill me? I'd love you to spend the rest of your lives in prison, you bastard!” he growled, and I couldn't stand it anymore. I released a heavy blow across his face, and he forcefully left Haven, who shifted backwards. “You!!” he pointed fingers, and I hit him with my boot, and he staggered backwards until he hit his body on his car. The hell of men he came with moved forward, three of them, reaching to pick me up at once. I reached out to the first person, slamming his cheek, and then my elbow at the second guy. I stomped the third heavily on his belly before getting back at them one after the other until they all crumbled to the floor, fighting to at least get back to their car. I turned to Alden, who was still panicking, massaging his cheek and struggling to open the car door so he could get in. “If you ever set foot here, I will make sure you lose one of your kidneys,” I warned him while watching as he crouched into his car. The others joined in, and they zoomed off. My fist was hurting a little, but I didn't want to look away from their car until they vanished. And once they did, I turned around to meet Haven standing behind me, her palms transfixed on her waist while she glared. “I apologize for causing a mess here.” I started, finally taking a look at my bruised knuckles. “I had warned him never to get to anything concerning my club, but he wouldn't listen for once.” She breathed out and let go of her waist, "I'm not complaining about what you did. You saved my ass right now, because I really do not want to get into trouble by beating him up.” Indeed, she could beat Alden up. If she did so to the man at the club party, then Alden was nothing to her. I also knew that her apprentices wouldn't watch those jerks coming to fight their boss, but I liked that I got to find out and came on time. She looked so pissed and even steupsed so loudly before walking closer to me. “Your knuckles must be hurting. I have a first aid kit here, so I can treat it before you leave,” she said and took my hand, drawing me behind her without even hearing my objection. The way she held me seriously stirred something in me. I knew I liked her, but I didn't expect her to be this caring. The fact that she wasn't even mad that Alden was my brother and was getting on her nerves could mean that she saw us both differently. She made me sit on one of the chairs there and then entered the workshop. That was when my eyes landed on her apprentices. They were holding weapons, their brows creased while they glared at me. Don't they still get it? I was different from my brother and just saved their boss right now. I knew they could be thinking what my motive was, but I had no intention towards their boss except that… “I got it!” she said and squatted before me. “Don't you think having a glove on before punching is better? My uncle taught me how to fight, so I know the safety precautions too. Also, I'm a tattoo artist, in case you want to get another on your face,” she chuckled, applying the ointments. I knew her uncle, a great fighter who taught people, and the one behind the tattoos I wore. He was so good at what he did, and I liked that he also coached his niece to be that good. “If you didn't show up, I wasn't sure what those men would have done with me. In fact, I don't want to think about what your brother wants from me when we have already ended things. So I'm going to say a big thank you for showing up. At least, he was punched by his brother and not me.” She kept talking while rubbing the G.V. on the bruises. Once done, I stood up and strengthened my fingers. “Thank you, or I wouldn't remember doing this.” She nodded with a smile, even when I was lying. There was Nova, who would rush to treat me, but I didn't want to have her near me unless I was taking my treatments. Two days later, I'd be done and not have her around again. “How’s this place for your work?” I asked, and she shrugged. “They are your apprentices?” She nodded, “I like this place more. Thank you again for saving my ass yesterday.” “It's nothing,” I mentioned and rubbed the bridge of my nose. “Will get going. See you later.” “Okay, bye!” I got to my bike, put on my helmet, and left. But somehow, I just wanted to stay back there and watch her work. I didn't feel like leaving her side, but I got some business to take care of.
