Madison POV
I awoke suddenly. The sound of weeping woke me. It was not the sound I expected to hear. I opened my eyes to see a young child sitting at the end of my bed crying. When the girl saw me awake, she jumped off the bed and hurried out the door.
Soon, a woman and a man came back with the young girl, and she was dismissed as they saw that I was awake.
‘About time you woke up. Do you know you have slept for three days, I was beginning to think you would never wake.’ She took out a stethoscope and started checking me over and tutting me every now and then.
After a while, another lady walked in, and I knew immediately that this was not a nice person, but I kept my face passive and did not look at her in the eye.
