"Boom! Boom!" After the Japanese troops had set up their positions, they quickly unleashed a barrage of shells at the headquarters building. Instantly, machine guns, tanks, mountain guns, and mortars of various calibers roared in unison, shells of all sizes raining down on the building. If this had happened before the building was bombarded by Japanese naval guns, these shells wouldn't have posed much of a threat. After all, these mountain guns and tanks were all small-caliber weapons, and the headquarters building's walls could easily withstand their bombardment.
