Sun, Green Curtain! The air was thick with the black smoke from burning car tires. This suffocating gas made me want to escape its control. But on the other hand, I hoped the smoke would be as thick and the smell as strong as possible. The reason was simple: we needed this smoke for cover, we needed it to survive. After all, compared to our own lives, sacrificing a little sense of smell and inhaling some harmful gases was nothing. And there they were! Japanese planes were constantly swooping overhead, but they couldn't find any targets to bomb, and in the end, they could only drop a few bombs randomly.
