CHAPTER NINE

"She has a high fever, we will have to place her under supervision for a few days." The doctor finn said, Finn has been our family doctor for years. I nodded and followed him to sign the necessary papers, then i called the judge to tell him the recent development. Dianne called several times, she was probably done with whatever activity she was doing and now she realized her daughter was missing.

"What do you want Dianne?" i asked when i finally answered the phone.

"I know she's with you, bring her back!" she yelled.

"What are you talking about?"

"Aaliyah, i know you took her, the butler said you did, so bring her back."

"She's at the hospital you irresponsible excuse of a mother. She's getting treatment and except you want her dead, you will let her be." i hung up. Dianne was really getting on my last nerve, leaving Aaliyah all alone just to fulfill her s****l urges. She refused to hire a help, and the ones i hired, she found one excuse or another to dismiss them. I don't care how judge morris is going to do it but Aaliyah is coming home with me.

"How long is she going to be here?" i asked Finn.

"Three to four days." he said

"On no account Finn, no account will you let anyone take Aaliyah out of this hospital. Not even her mother, okay."

"Sure."

I dialed Audrey; "I can't wait any longer, let's get married now." i said immediately she answered the phone.

She chuckled dryly, "You need to calm down Mason, why the haste?"

"I want you to move in with me as soon as possible."

She gasped, "Mason Sullivan! I don't have time for jokes, what is wrong with you?!" she yelled.

"My daughter is sick, she's currently at the hospital and i cannot let her return to her mother. She has to return home with me when she gets discharged in four days."

She was quiet for a second, then she said; "We get married in two days as planned, you can tell the doctor to keep her an extra day okay."

"Tomorrow."

"A day after tomorrow, and Mason Sullivan is not going press this further, is he?"

I sighed, she was one difficult woman; "Fine."

"I know i'm getting married to the 'Mason Sullivan, Owner of Sullivan Industries' but please, can we keep this wedding out of the media for now?"

"Why?"

"It will be less scandalous for both of us when this is over." she said, i on the other hand wanted to flaunt her for a purpose.

"I actually want the opposite."

"We only want the court to acknowledge the fact that we're married, i don't see why the blogs should know."

"They always find out."

"Let me worry about that, will you do this or not?"

"Fine." i hung up and asked brian to handle everything pertaining to the wedding preparation.

Audrey's P.O.V

I didn't have any plan, in fact i haven't thought about the marriage the whole day. I called Amy to tell her about the change of plans, then i left my office after the call.

"Are you really going to marry Mason Sullivan?" Erin asked immediately i returned to the lab.

"Why the surprise on your face?"

"He has a reputation ma'am, i'm worried for you."

"You should be thinking about what this union could do for Bennett's Empire, besides don't believe everything you read on the papers." May said

"Were you both eavesdropping on my conversations?" i asked angrily.

"We are sorry ma'am, but we got curious when you yelled and called his name." Erin said.

"How much did you hear?"

"Just the part where you said you would get married in two days." May giggled, Erin poked her and made her stop.

I walked past them and returned to the lab, we had succeeded in making fifty-five bottles of the perfume i made, they were taken to the packaging section and i asked that they use the same name that was given to it by my father.

At the end of the day's work, i stopped by a restaurant to have dinner, i sat down while i waited for the waitress to come take my order.

"Audrey? Audrey Bennett! It is you." Stephanie Parker, my ex best friend called out to me and hugged me. I was dumbstruck, i didn't think i would run into her yet, i turned to see if Enzo was also here but it turns out she was alone.

"Hey steph." I said coldly

"Oh my, don't tell me you are still mad at me. It's been four months Audrey and i apologized, it wasn't intentional." she said, rubbing her baby bump. I looked at it and then back at her.

"Of course." i forced a smile and picked up my bag and car keys to leave because i had lost my appetite.

"You have to forgive me and move on at some point you know."

I stopped and turned to face her, "I have moved on steph. You don't bother me at all, you can enjoy Enzo for as long as you can. Because trust me, he will leave you sooner than expected."

"Really, to whom?"

"Oh you will know soon enough, that baby is going to be all you have in a few months."

I walked out on her and dashed out of the restaurant, i couldn't breathe the same air as her, she irritated me in every way possible. I got into my car and drove straight home, i had to send an email of everything i need mason to do, starting tomorrow morning. It's time to get the ball rolling, my phone rang and the caller made me smile;

"Look who missed me."

"What is this i hear? You're getting married in two days and i just got to know about it?"

"I see Amy told you already. It wasn't planned Ryan, i'm sorry."

"Why him though?"
