Not only did the b***h ruin everything for me, but she also got married to him, to Lucien Lawson, my betrothed.
And in a span of four years he had grown from being a business man to a prime minister.
Whoever said that evil will always find those who do you harm, they lied, four years has passed and she seem to be living her best life, with no regret for what she had done to me.
How she had ruined my family, and I hate it, I hate that she is happy, I hate that everything is working so well for her.
But not all good things last long, especially with someone as evil as her.
I knew I had to begin my plan to ruin her life, to get into the Harlem Fortress, an estate that they have been living together, although it seems almost impossible.
It was like breaking into the most deadliest prison with the best of security.
So I waited, for an opportunity to present itself, I have been away for five years, I could wait a couple more years.
A year has now passed and the opportunity I was waiting for had presented itself.
A chance to get into her inner circle, and for the last one year, I have been gathering as much intel about her, it was almost like I knew her like the palm of my hand.
“Are you really leaving us?” The mayor’s son asked, a little seven year old boy clutching my hand tightly as I dragged my suitcase down the stairs.
I have been working as a maid for the family for eight months and now that I had the chance to work at Harlem’s Fortress, I knew I wouldn’t miss up on that opportunity.
I crutched down and played with his hair,
“I’m so sorry dear, but I really have to go” I said to him warmly.
He reminded me so much of the sun, shinning brightly despite the evil in the world.
“I will miss you” he says and hugs me tightly.
“I will miss you too” I replied as I held him tightly.
He was pulled away by the butler and I was left to face the mayor and his wife.
“Is this really what you want?” She asked.
Working with them made me realize that there were nice people in this world but I didn’t want to grow too attached to them.
“Yes ma’am” I nodded and she smiled.
“It’s your choice, I cannot stop you” she let out.
“If you ever need anything from us, don’t hesitate to ask” the Mayor said sternly.
“Well there is something that I need from you” I let out.
“Sure name it” she responded.
I’m back in my apartment and the meeting has already been set, I was to begin my interview next week, so I was to be present at the Harlem Fortress.
While I waited for my time, I used that little moment to watch them on the big screen.
It’s the annual event for Harlem Empire and a huge party has been held for it.
The red carpet was swarmed with reporters and photographers at the scene, taking pictures of each and every guests.
A red limousine arrives early, the door opens, Lena steps out in a black dress with a blue diamond on the front, and Lucien steps out, wearing a white suit, his hair polished to the back, his face soft as he waved his hands around.
He looked even more handsome than the last time i remember him, I couldn’t help but stare at him.
I watched her wrap her hands around him, then they began walking together, Lena smiled so brightly her white teeth kept flashing against the screen.
Each time the camera focused to her face, I felt the need to slice her neck with a knife.
It made me wonder if I would have wanted revenge on her if her life was miserable too, would I have cared to want to ruin her if she wasn’t living a perfect life, if she wasn’t living my life.
All that she has now was supposed to be mine, I should have been the one by his side.
But she managed to beat me to it.
While I investigated her, I found out that she had had three miscarriages in a span of four years, they must be really desperate to have a child.
I guess Karma did catch up to her but it was not enough for me to feel at peace, her life still looked perfect to me, and it is up to me to ruin whatever is left of it until she is crumbling on her knees, begging for mercy.
Only then will I consider her or not.
