Chapter 10

"I agree, and you can stay the f**k away from me!" I step back and push him off of me. "I'm going home." I say as my head begins to spin. "I'll take you home." "No, I'll go and find Christina. She can take me home." I say starting to walk away but my wrist is caught in his grasp. Shane, pulls me back into him and once again I inhale his intoxicating scent. Even with the room spinning slightly and my stomach fluttering with butterflies, I can't resist him. "They can get home just fine without us. Let me take you home, it's the least I can do." He says staring down at me as if he's going to kiss me again but he refrains. "I'm going to puke." I say as I quickly turn away. I had no time to hold the hot liquid that was quickly burning my throat. The brown liquid splashed the floor and boy did it taste as awful as it did going down. Shane, let out a chuckle and rubbed my back. "First rule of drinking, you need food on your stomach."  I stood up wiping the side of my mouth with the back of my hand. "We can stop and grab you something to eat. Like maybe three packs of gum."  He said the last part playfully. I was so embarrassed all I could do was roll my eyes and follow him out of the club. Christina, and Will were at the bar cozying up to each other. We walked over to them and Shane whispered into Will's ear. "Hey babe you ok?" Christina, yells over the music, and behind Will's back. "Not really, I feel like shit." "Want me to come with?" "She's in good hands." Shane says putting his arm around my waist. It may have been for stability but somehow it was more. "Yeah I'll be fine." I say before he leads me out of the door. Shane, and I walk to his car. He opens my door and I sink into the soft leather of the Mercedes. When he gets in he reaches over and secures my seatbelt. My mind is so confused by him. One minute he's a complete asshole but the next he's caring. Men. The engine purrs to life and we head down the street leaving the music behind us. I lay my head back and close my eyes to keep the world from spinning. I do not want to throw up in this car. Once was plenty. "We're here princess." Shane says softly. I awake in a stupor and the taste of the vomit is repulsive. He reaches over to unlock my seatbelt and I try not to breathe on him. It could be lethal. I look around and see we're at a dimly lit diner. But I don't let that deter me. Some of the best food I've ever had with my father has been in diners like this. "Welcome, what can I get ya?" The white haired woman says. "I'll have a coke, and she'll have a ginger ale. We'll need a little time to look over the menu." "Ok just holler when you're ready." "Um, where's the bathroom?" "Second door on the left." In the bathroom I splash cold water on my face and swoosh water around in my mouth. "Damn, I wish I had some gum."  I say before I exit the bathroom holding the door knob with a paper towel. I walk back to the booth and I see Shane, distracted in his phone. I wonder for a second is it a girl? s**t. What do I care? He just kissed me and said it was a mistake. It sure as hell didn't feel like a mistake. I sit down in the booth and he quickly puts his phone away, and his focus is on me. "How are you feeling?" "Better." I say before sipping my drink. "What are you hungry for?" "You, but I'll settle for a burger." The look in his eyes causes me to shift in my seat. His gaze touches me in places that I want him to touch, taste, and bruise. I pull my eyes away as I flush from embarrassment of my own thoughts. "I'll have one two but add bacon. Oh and no cheese." I say looking over the menu trying to quickly pull myself together. "I'll go order us two of those. Be right back." He struts away and he gives the woman our order. They both have playful smiles on their faces, and then both of their eyes fall on me. I tear my eyes away and pull out my phone. "s**t. I'm dead." I say as I realize the time. It's 1:42 in the morning. My mother is definitely not going to let me hangout with Christina again any time soon. Just what I need. Shane, plops down one the booth. "What's wrong?" "I missed curfew." I say sighing shortly after. "I already told them I was picking you up from her house. So you're good." "Thank you, but why?" "I'm your step brother. It's kind of my job." He says playfully. Thing is, I didn't feel playful after the brother joke. I was confused enough with my feelings toward him and now. I'm disgusted with myself. You'd think that would deter me but it somehow fills this forbidden lust I have for him.
