Aella"s heart pounded as she waited for the other members of the High Council to read through the notes and evidence she and Barker had managed to compile. This was make or break for them. At the end of the meeting, they"d either both have their seats, neither of them would, or they"d be forced to choose which of them was going to give up theirs.
She didn"t like either of the latter two options, but she knew it was impossible for them to continue as they were, especially after sealing the bond between them. All it would take was one slip up and their secret would be out in the open.
It was making her even more nervous to be standing in the middle of the room and not sitting in her chair. At least she had her mate by her side and didn"t have to worry about going through this alone.
